"So? What do you say?" He asked.
My heart beat was erratic, banging inside my chest as I looked up at the boy on top of me.
"I-" my words were cut off when I heard the door opening and slamming shut, followed by a familiar voice.
"Hey Emi, I left my board game here- WHAT THE FLYING UNICORNS IS GOING ON?" Rin yelled and I cringed. Amaimon still sat on top of me, staring amusedly at Rin.
"Get off her!" he growled and lunged forward. With a flick to the forehead by Amaimon, he crashed into the wall.
"What if I don't want to?" the green haired boy smirked.
Rin just charged forward again. This time Amaimon grabbed his arm and twisted it.
"What do you want?" Amaimon asked, Rin's arm held firmly in his hand. Rin gasped in pain.
"Amaimon! Let him go!" I struggled to push him off me but he wouldn't budge.
"Stop!" I pleaded when Rin's screams got louder.
"You didn't answer my question..." I wasn't sure if he was referring to me or Rin. I remained quiet, still struggling under his weight.
"I just came back for the game!" Rin squeaked and Amaimon nodded, letting him go.
"Emi, what are you doing with him?" Rin asked, getting as far away from Amaimon.
"Weren't you getting your game?-"
"Shut up and get off me. You're heavy" I grumbled and Amaimon gave me a soft glare but rolled next to me. I sat up and faced Rin.
"Well, you are interrupting a very important moment so take your game and go" Amaimon spoke.
"You can't tell him when to go. This isn't your room" I shot back.
"So you want him to stay? Do you want him instead of me? Is that it?" he raised his eyebrow.
"What? You're not making any sense-"
"Answer my question"
"What is your problem?"
"My problem? You're always defending everyone! You're always picking them instead of me!" he raised his voice.
"I wouldn't have to defend them if you weren't always hurting them! And they never do anything to you!" I raised my voice too.
"Actually they are! Do you know how hard it is to have to fight for your attention?"
"You're not making any sense!"
"You're not making any sense!" he yelled. "You kiss me, then act like nothing happened. You act all sweet, but you deny everything in front of everyone!"
"What have I got to deny?"
"So you're saying we're nothing? You were just leading me on?"
"Leading you on? You're the one who always starts!"
"So if you kiss that idiot, it will mean as much as kissing me?" he pointed at Rin.
"Stop acting like I have to choose between the world and you! You're not the only person in my life!" I growled.
"So you hate me" he stated and I rolled my eyes.
"You're so irritating! Stop putting words in my mouth!"
"Well you're not doing anything to make me feel otherwise!"
"I'm not doing anything at all!" I huffed.
"Exactly!"
"Stop doing that!"
"Doing what? Do you want me to do something? Maybe so you can come and yell at me some more?"
"Listen to yourself Amaimon. You're acting like you're my boyfriend or something!"
"Well that's exactly what I want! But you still haven't answered!"
"Wait, what the-?" Rin's wide eyes flickered between me and the boy in front of me.
"What are you still doing here?" Amaimon growled.
"Don't speak to him like that" I growled back.
"Don't speak to me like that" He raised his eyebrows. I followed his actions.
"Last time I checked you weren't important to me in the slightest. I can speak to you any way I want to"
"Really? You told me earlier you liked me. Now I don't know if demons and angels use different words, but I'm pretty sure liking someone means he's important to you!" he said.
"Well with the way you're acting it seems like I'm not important to you at all! So why care about a person who doesn't care about me?" I shot back and he let out a sarcastic laugh.
"You're not important to me? Do you even realize what you're saying? Do you think it's easy being around you? Do you think it isn't painful every time I touch or kiss you? My fucking lips are blue because of you! I came here to ask you if you would be my girlfriend and all you do is scream at me!" he said and stood up from the bed.
"I'm not the only one screaming! You started it with your jealousy!"
"Jealousy? You think I'm jealous?"
I remained silent, just glaring at him.
"You know what, do whatever you want. Since I'm 'not important to you in the slightest' I'll just leave. You can bitch at another person who actually gives a damn."
"So you're saying right now that you don't give a damn about me?" I raised an eyebrow.
He gave me the nastiest glare I've ever received.
"Fuck you"
After those to words, he disappeared.
His words stung, clawing at my heart like a rabid beast. My eyes widened as I gripped the sheets between my hands. The anger inside me slowly dissipated, another feeling overcoming me in it's stead.
Sadness...
Like a scratched record, his words ran through my mind. I closed my eyes, my body shaking as I felt the stabs through my chest. I was so angry and sad at the same time, I felt like crying and smashing something.
"Uh.. Emi, are you okay?"
I shook my head rapidly. I tried to stop his words running through my memory, but I couldn't.
Do you think it's easy being around you?..
I came here to ask you if you would be my girlfriend and all you do is scream at me!..
Since I'm 'not important to you in the slightest' I'll just leave...
"Emi?"
I came here to ask you if you would be my girlfriend...
All you do is scream at me!..
I'll just leave...
Fuck you...
The sight of his hurt expression replayed in my mind. I was so blinded by my anger I didn't realize I was hurting him. He came to me so we could be a real thing, and all I did was cause him pain. As everything settled and my mind started to realize what just happened, I felt panick rising inside me.
"What the hell did I just do?"
