"I'm going to move to Mexico and change my name to Benito." I grumbled as I let myself fall back onto the floor in exhaustion.
"What are you saying?" Rin's light chuckle reached my ears as he remained in the sitting position on the floor like I had just previously been, and as cheerful as it sounded it didn't help my mood at all.
"A rice farmer, that's what I'll be. Or maybe I'll spend my days working in the cotton fields. Even that's better than this." I kept mumbling.
Rin lightly shoved my side as an encouragement to get up, moving the three candles closer to me with a suggestive look. "You'll get it soon. You just have to keep trying."
"How is that working out for you?" I raised an eyebrow. "You're doing worse than me."
"Hey! I can get it any time I want to." Rin defended, pointing a finger at my direction. "I'm just waiting for you!"
"Yeah yeah," I waved him off as I straightened up. "I think I'm calling it a day. I have things to do." I yawned as I stretched my body.
"Right. Benito the rice farmer actually has a life." Rin snorted sarcastically, earning a glare from me. Immediately he shot me a cheap smile which I couldn't help but return as I playfully flicked his forehead.
"Keep at it. You're almost there." I encouraged. He was already able to light the three candles, just not at the same time.
"You too. See ya later Emi." I saw him wave and I did the same, exiting the training room shortly after.
I don't know why I was rushing back to my dorm, although I had a pretty good idea, I just didn't want to admit it. Yesterday was a rough start, but I knew this whole 'being stuck in a room with Amaimon' situation was going to be a blessing, and if it wasn't I was sure as hell going to make it one. I'm God's daughter, after all.
After a few minutes of speed walking and downright jogging my way back to the room, I finally stood in front of the door, my hand set on the knob as I willed myself to open it.
Not going to lie, I was mixed between feeling scared and excited about seeing the green haired demon. But I was also nervous of how he was going to react. He probably hates me, I'm well aware of that, but you know that they say. There's a fine line between hate and...
I shook my head at the stupid thoughts and forced myself to open the door, pulling it forward and closing it behind me.
My eyes skimmed the room for the green hamster and I finally spotted him munching on a lollipop on top of my bed. The sight looked hilarious, a green hamster eating a lollipop three times his size on a huge bed he could easily get lost in. Before I knew it a soft giggle escaped my lips, which I tried to cover with a cough as his eyes shot towards me.
Suddenly realization downed upon me and I froze on my spot. My gaze flickered between the open cage and the hamster. "You got out?" I slowly asked.
He waited a few seconds before replying. "Yeah. The seal won't let me leave the room, though." He said in an annoyed tone.
"Oh." I whispered.
So he actually wants to leave. Dang, I can't be that horrible.
"Are you going to stay there and stare me down all day?'' He called in a teasing tone and my heart jumped. He was actually joking with me! That's what I call progress!
"Sorry. The room's so big," I tried to play it off. "I was just thinking of how empty it felt."
"I'm little, not invisible." He rolled his beady lilac eyes as he stretched on the bed, little paws going up in the air and leaving his belly exposed. I couldn't control myself and rushed over to him, gently tickling my finger over his tummy.
