"Where was Emi last seen?" Shura drummed her long fingers against the table.
Mephisto's office was silent. She looked over at Yukio who stood a few feet away, his hard gaze locked on the window at the distance in an attempt to concentrate.
Pheles' chin rested on his interlaced hands, looking between the two instructors before speaking.
"Emi left my office a while back. She'd asked Ryoku to help her with her flight, but as they made their way to the clearing on the west side of the school Ryoku realized she wasn't behind him."
"But Ryoku would have noticed her disappearance immediately. Or at least he would've sensed someone approaching." Yukio muttered, his blue gaze shifting around the room in thought.
"That's right," Shura added. "Someone must've somehow blocked his sensory receptors."
Silence once again enveloped the room. Nobody knew what to think, or what to make of the situation. Someone inside the school had managed to capture Emi, there was no sign of her anywhere. Ryoku had been going mad looking for her around the whole school and no matter how discreet he tried to be, people had begun to notice something was off.
Ryoku was not the only one. A certain green haired demon was close to losing his head by now. The thought of Emi being hurt drove him insane, and being cooped up inside Emi's room by orders of Mephisto only made it worse.
"Does the Vatican know about this?" Shura sighed, rubbing at her temples as she leaned against the desk. "They must have some sort of tracking system on her."
"They don't know yet." Mephisto replied. "I will notify and ask for their help soon. I wanted to gather as much details as I could first."
"And what can we do until then?"
"We could alert the exorcist class and organize a search party." Yukio offered. "We can use my period to look for her."
"Alright." Mephisto approved, leaning back on his chair as he looked at the two tense instructors before him.
"I'll let you guys take care of that. Alerting the Vatican will cause this situation to be public, but for now let's keep it as close as possible. Thank you in advance for your cooperation."
The two bowed and left the office, allowing Mephisto to finally drop his posture, slumping his shoulders as he leaned his head agaisnt the desk in front of him.
None of this made sense. How could Emi dissappear without a trace?
"She must be somewhere inside the barrier. We just have to find her." He reassured himself, pushing his face off the desk as he swiftly grabbed the office phone and dialed Emi's dorm.
Not even one ring later the sound of rustling invaded his ears as he heard ragged breathing through the line.
"Do you know where she is?" A voice growled impatiently.
Mephisto rubbed at his forehead, mentally preparing himself for the never-ending list of questions from his hot headed brother.
