"Say Emi, do you like coffee or tea?" A pair of emerald green eyes followed me as I shifted my weight from side to side in an impatient manner.
"I, um... Both?" I offered a dismissive reply before opening my mouth again. "Ryoku's back."
"Is he now?" Mephisto smirked. "How's brother handling him?"
I resisted the urge to crumble in defeat as I only limited my face to contort in an uncomfortable expression. "It could be worse... I think."
"That so?" The purple haired man arched an eyebrow as his hand circled around a ceramic pot, pouring a drink into a cup.
"Can you change Amaimon back?" I tried once again. "I don't think he can slip away from Ryoku much longer while he's in that form."
"Nope. You need to learn to tolerate that idiot while in his animal form. As for the dragon, Amaimon will just have to deal with it." Mephisto shrugged as he set the pot on his desk and brought the cup to his lips.
"Where is he now?"
"Ryoku is with Shura. I'm supposed to join them in a couple of minutes for training." I answered, looking at the clock on my phone. I still had about fifteen minutes until I met with Shura and Rin.
"Finally done with the candles?"
I groaned in defeat as I rubbed my temples. "Still not able to do that. But I'll get it soon enough!"
"Training without proper control over your powers?" The purple haired man chuckled. "That's going to be interesting. Maybe I'll pop by later."
"Thanks for the support?" I sweatdropped before taking a quick glance at my clock once again. "I should go meet with the others now. Please reconsider changing Amaimon back." I shot him one last pleading look as I turned around and exited the office

"Emi! Nice to see you!" Rin greeted as he sped over to me just as I arrived at the rooftop. "Your dragon has been glaring at me since I got here! Make him stop!"
"Ryoku?" I called with a sigh as my gaze searched for the animal. "Rin is a friend of mine."
A deep huff reached my ears as my eyes found the dragon.
"He is the son of Satan. How can you consider him a friend?"
"He's not evil." I sighed. "Well, not entirely. The idiot still camps in call of duty-"
"You do it too!" The sapphire eyed boy protested as I waved him off.
"Alright, now that we're all here let's begin our training." Shura interrupted as she stepped forward, her hands joining together in a single clap.
"As I mentioned before, Emi and Ryoku's transformation seem to be triggered by Rin's blue flames. So let's test that theory out. Rin, give me the koma sword." She held out her hand.
"No way!"
"Have you learned to control your flames?" Shura impatiently asked.
"Well no, but-"
"Koma sword." She said one more time, a hard stare directed at the boy who visibly shivered and immediately complied to her wishes.
"Alright. I'm going to unsheath it. Emi, stand as far away from Rin as possible." Shura instructed before acomodating the sword on her grip, giving us a nod as she slowly unsheathed the weapon.
Immediately Rin's body erupted in blue flames, mine following the same path a second after.
I looked at Rin for a second, him shooting me a weak smile before scratching the back of his head. "I don't think I'll ever get used to this."
"Ryoku didn't transform." I added.
"After my true form awakened, I gained the ability to transform at will and speak, master."
I visibly sweatdropped as I looked at the dragon beside me. "That would've been useful a couple of seconds ago..."
"We're sure about one thing, though. Emi's purple flames are a defense mechanism against Rin's blue ones." Shura said before sheathing the sword. Immediately the fire around us died down as we regained our normal appearance.
"How is the candle training working?" She asked as she threw the Koma back to Rin who easily caught it.
"Well, it's been..."
"Ya know, it's going..."
We both turned our gazes away from Shura's intense stare as we fought to look for words.
"I'm going to be completely honest. If you don't learn to control your flames, we cannot ensure you that you'll be able to remain at the school. Now, once you've gotten a good feel of how to control the flames we can start with our real training." Shura informed.
"What kind of training?" I spoke up. She shot me a smirk before replying.
"We're going to fuse your flames with Rin's."
