I had my boys with me.

_

You drummed your fingers against your desk, trying to study for your school's finals. Maybe I shouldn't be here, the thought had crossed your mind more than once since you decided to give up hunting and lead a normal life.

Of course you still put salt on the windows and had devils traps under rugs and silver and iron, but once you are a hunter; it's harder to not be one edge all the time. You shook your head, sighing.

I miss them.

You never saw the boys anymore, and school was so much more boring than being in the impala with them. Tears pricked your eyes and you knew that you wouldn't be able to study now. You held your head and shook it, frustrated and lonely. "Damnit!" You screamed, throwing the boom across the room, hitting the duplex walk. You missed them to damn much, and it hurt you just to think about them. I shouldn't have left...

Memories threatened to make you cry, and you let your walls down. You were all alone, you could. You remembered when you met them, you were seven at the time.

"I'm [Y/N]!" You exclaimed, bouncing over to the two boys. The younger one waved at you. "My mommy said I needed to make friends or else I'll be alone." The older boy chuckled. "A little blunt!" He laughed and you smiled up at him, two of your teeth missing.

"Can we be friends?" The younger boy nodded eagerly. "Yes! I want to! I'm Sam, that's my brother Dean. He gets moody sometimes since he's 11." You and Sam giggled together, and Dean just rolled his eyes, already becoming attached to you.

The tears were falling, and you hated it. You hated being normal but you chose this. They must be long gone by now. It's been months since you left, and only now has it hit you hard you may never see your childhood best friends again.

It all blurred. Your tears made everything come together and you just sat on your room floor, crying. You hiccuped as you remembered when everything took a turn for the worst, but you had your brothers at your side to stable you. They were always there. They always were there to help you and this is what you did...you left them for school.

"Go find Sam," your dad whispered to you. "Don't ever let those you love let go, you hear me? And find a good boy to marry. Remember that, ok, honey?" You nodded, confused. He sent you on your way and you got to school.

"Sam," you whispered, looking at him. He looked back at you, blinking. "My dad, he told me to never let you guys go." Your voice cracked. "He said to not lose the ones I love. I won't lose you, will I?" Sam saw your heartbroken face and shook his head, grabbing you in for a hug. "Never."

"Try it, it's good." You refused, staring at the bottle. Was it good? You reached out and took the bottle from the older kids, drinking it. The liquid burned down your throat and made you stumble. They all laughed. You frowned and finished it off, shaky. "[Y/N]!" You turned and waved sloppily.

"Dean! Sam, look at this, it's gooood." Dean snatched the bottle from you and punched the guy who gave it to you to the ground. Sam grabbed you while Dean rampaged. "Don't do that again, please, [Y/N]." He begged and you nodded, your head sloshing. "Yea, Sam, but it stops the pain." His face showed his pain.

"There are other other ways to make the pain go away," he whispered to you, hugging you as if he could shield you away from the bad things in life.
