Hold on, hold onto me. Because I'm a little unsteady.

You stared at Sam, unsure. "Sam, we don't know..." The clue you guys found on Dean's whereabouts were exact, and you were sure it wasn't him. Most of the times you were right, so Sam sighed and shit his laptop. He looked haggard, as did you. Dean missing had taken its toll on both of you, and every time you passed his room you would almost cry.
A few days later, you were browsing for his trail when you found something. "Sam! Sam, get in here! I think I found something!" You screamed happily, smiling for the first time in a while. Sam ran in, his elbow in its cast. "What? What did you find?" He asked, breathless. "Come take a look at this." You stared at his face as he read, hope rising up in you. A slow smiled spread on his face and you slammed the laptop shut, getting up quickly. "Now, we need to go now."
In the car, you and Sam were silent. The anticipation of finally finding Dean was stifling, but also exciting. It had been months, a year at least, since you last saw him. He left you both a mess, and for that you could never forgive him. You could remember when you had to hold Sam as he cried on your shoulder, comforting him that you were sure you guys would get his brother back.
"Damnit!" Sam knocked something against his wall, scaring you.
Silently, you went over to him, frowning when you saw his shoulders shaking. "Sam?" You sat next to him and he didn't look up. "Sam." This time he did. His eyes were red and tears were streaming down his cheeks. The look of him had your heart breaking, and your anger flaring.
You just grabbed him and let him cry on your shoulder, your eyes stinging as well. "It's okay, Sam." You whispered, your voice thick with emotion. "We'll find Dean, he'll come back." Sam just continued to cry on your shoulder, a few tears escaping your eyes as well.
"Don't worry," you hugged him as he shook, "everything will be fine." You didn't know if you were consoling him or yourself.

You say on the motel bed, cocking your gun. You had your knife strapped to your thigh and another one hidden on your back. "He's here," you muttered to yourself in disbelief. "He's here..." Sam walked in at that moment, his face stoic. "Sam, you ready?" He nodded and you looked at him. "Sam," you warned.
He sighed and looked at his hands. "I don't know if he's my brother anymore." His words shocked you. "He—he ran off with a Demon, [Y/N], and then he hides away from us for a year? Not to mention his eyes. Did you see his eyes, [Y/N]?" You shook your head. You hadn't, you were too busy thinking of other things.
"His eyes were black."
That made you uncomfortable. "Sam, we don't know until we find him." You tried to say but he didn't have any of it. "I know what I saw, [Y/N]," Sam was serious, his eyes dull. "Dean is a demon." You inhaled sharply. Was he? He died and came back after that asshole of a Metatron stabbed him.
Your head shook as you defied Sam. "Just, let's just go check it out, okay?" Sam was dubious, but he held his thoughts at bay. He wanted to see his brother, too, even if he was different. Dean would always be his big brother, his hero. Nothing could ever change that.

Both of you walked around the warehouse, confused. From what you had gathered, this was where Dean was suppose to be. "I don't understand," you muttered, flashing your light around. "He...he's suppose to be here." After the whole year of M.I.A. Dean, the hysteria of it all was finally happening. You had it all bottled up; tucking it away to comfort Sam, ignoring it when Cas came to make him feel better. Sam stared at you and pulled you into a hug. He understood, the both of you had been through a lot. And you never had a chance to express how you felt.Suddenly, you were both separated. "Sam!" You called out, on edge. "[Y/N]!" Sam shouted, trying to find you in the dark. He flashed his light and it landed on a smirking guy, his eyes turning black.
Demons. And the place was crawling with them.
Sam whipped out his knife and started slashing and stabbing, trying to stay alive in the frenzy of them. Dean? Was the only thought running through his head as he killed demon after demon, being careful to make sure it wasn't his brother. The demons were held at bay and Sam stopped, breathing heavily. He gripped the knife tighter, readying himself.
Dean stepped in, smirking. "Sam," he said, his eyes flashing black. "You found me." Sam's breath hitched and he shook. "Dean? Is that...is that really you?" His voice was shaky, and his nerves were everywhere. Here Dean was, finally, in the flesh. Dean tsked. "I said to let me go, Sammy." Sam flinched at the way he said the nickname.
It was harsh and cruel, nothing like the way Dean used to say it. "Don't call me that—not while you aren't you!" Sam spat, his grip retightening on the knife handle. Dean sighed, shaking his head. "Sam, can't you see that I am me? Look, it's me, but new and improved." Sam gritted his teeth. "No, you aren't 'new and improved' you just downgraded yourself to something we kill." It stung Sam to say the words, they always had each other's backs—and now they didn't. It was like a wave of notice hit him when your screams ricochet off the walls, but not giving where you were away.
Sam spun around, trying to leave. "[Y/N]!" He bellowed. "[Y/N]!"
Dean twitched, and he craned his neck. "Stop them." Dean snarled, but no one did anything. Sam was killing again, his fury ignited like the pits of hell. "Stop it, stop it you bastards!" His body was filled with rage and he watched every body drop dead. Both human and demon lives lost. Sam felt a twinge of sympathy, but he had to get to you, he had to save you.
"STOP IT!" You screamed, trying to make the demons go away. They had surrounded you, leaving no way out. They would hurt you and pass you off to another, doing this until you screamed. Yet, after you did scream, they continued to do it: this time more deadly. You managed to escape the circle, but now they had your cornered. No place to go, no place to hide.
A knife slashed your arm and you knew they were toying with you before the killed you. Sam ran in, all attention turned to him. He looked lethal, and they were all dead before you knew it. He picked you up, passing Dean. "Wait—" you tried to speak, looking at him. Sam just kept going. "We'll come back another time," Sam hissed, leaving his brother behind like he had done to him.
