Lollipops and candy sticks.

"Gabriel, hocus pocus, when I turn around-ocus you better be there."

You turned around, stretching. A cocky, yet taller than you man stood before you, a lollipop stick jutting out of his mouth. A smile curved his lips, and his eyes sparkled with mischief. His brown hair was pushed back, framing the face that you had grown too fond of over the years.

"Ta-da, young and impatient girlfriend." He smirked, pulling the candy out of his mouth. "Shut up, you oaf." Your cheeks burned and you pushed him rather softly.

It wasn't true. Yes, you both had a thing for each other, but it was never spoken aloud. He just teased you relentlessly about you being his girlfriend, annoying you. Dean and Sam always pointed out about the obvious feelings in the air. Gabriel just shook his head and always popped off to somewhere else. Sometimes it infuriated you; the fact Gabriel wouldn't man up and ask you out, but you had no room to be talking. After all, you could speak up but yet you never did. It was an embarrassing fact about you two and always a sore spot when people tried to talk about it.

Gabriel stared down at you in a sort of wondering and worrying way. "Everything alright, pumpkin?" You stared at the ground before looking up with a smile, hiding your sadness. "Totally! Now that you're here, I can finally get away from these annoying pricks!" He smiled back at you, looking towards the two brothers watching him intently.

Do it. Sam mouthed.

I swear if you don't... Dean swore wordlessly.

Maybe. Gabriel smirked at them, Dean and Sam reddening in anger.

Do it and I'll tell you— Sam began mouthing furiously, Dean finishing for him.

Why she isn't herself.

Gabriel frowned at that. Why?

Tell her first.

No, ask her first.

Why would I ask her?

Listen, you big back of dicks, ask her or I'll stab you. Dean finished the conversation, looking at you.

"I watched you guys open and close your mouths at each other for 5 minutes. And you completely understood each other."

The three looked at each other, anger in one, disappointment in the other, and...bashfulness in the last? "[Y/N], we're going to go out and you're staying here to fuc—I mean talk to Gabriel." Dean said quickly, taking Sam away before you could object to his idea. "Sam! Dean!" You called out, trying to catch them.

They already had left. You alone. With Gabriel. With confused feelings. Fantastic.

"So," you swiveled around to get a better look at the Angel, "what now?" He looked down, and you looked away. The awkwardness was too thick to cut with your measly, plastic knife. "[Y/N], I think we both feel something for each other, and we need to clear it up." There it is. Gabriel cut the at with his steel knife, releasing a new tension. "Uh—no thanks." You said quickly, backing up out of the room.

"[Y/N]—"

"Gabe," you stopped him, "we don't need to talk about anything. My feelings are one-sided, that's it." The Angel flared in anger. "How do you know that? How would you know that my feelings are one-sided!" You spun around. "Because you never care! I try to and you never make a move! If anything happens remotely intimate, you leave me!" Now that your feelings were spilt, tears fell from your eyes.

"[Y/N]," before you know it, you were enveloped in a hug. But you didn't want a hug. No, you just wanted to have the feelings the same for you. Too bad Gabriel wasn't giving in. "Get away from me!" You got out of his hold, running from him.

You locked yourself in your room, leaning against the door. "[Y/N]," Gabriel called, knocking on the door lightly, "let me in." With resolve, you spoke up, your voice cracking. "No." Gabriel slumped against your door, his back to it. "You know, I never meant to hurt you."

Well you did, you bastard.

"I was scared to admit what I felt." You didn't move. "I thought you would play me." You scoffed. "Is everything a game to you, Gabriel?" The words came out strained, as if you were crying. Which you were. "No! No...I was just scared I would fall with no one to catch me."

Hearing the words from Gabriel was exactly how you felt. And now you knew how he felt too. The fear of falling for one and not being caught frightened you and him so much, it got in the way of how you thought about each other. You stood up and opened the door, Gabe falling back in your room.

He looked up, his eyes red from crying. "Gabriel..." You muttered and pushed him up, leaping into his arms for a hug. He held you close and pressed a soft, meaningful kiss to yours lips. You stopped but kissed back after a moment, not letting him go.

He caught you, and you caught him.
