Supernatural
"Only you would understand," you stated to the supernatural poster of Dean, Sam, and Cas. You touched the poster, taking in a deep breath before getting up. "[Y/N], get down here!" Your roommate screamed up the stairs to you. "We have to study for finals!" You groaned, remembering that finals were coming up. At least it was the last time you would have them, seeing as you were in your senior year in college.
"Coming!" You yelled down the stairs. Your turned back to your collection of your favourite show, smiling sadly. "Bye, see you in a bit." You closed your door, skipping down the stairs. You found your roommate tapping their foot in the kitchen, your two dogs swarming her.
"Dean! Sam! Sit!" You ordered, chewing your lower lip in embarrassment. "Sorry, they haven't seen you in awhile so..." You apologised, trailing off at her look. "Listen, I'm going to a frat party. Keep this place neat and watch your stupid 'supernatural' show. And your dogs, I want them gone by tomorrow," she spat and left, leaving no room for argument.
You gaped at where she once stood, frowning deeply before sitting on the kitchen floor. Dean and Sam laid beside you, licking your hands and wagging their tails. You heard a meow and saw Cas, your cat. He walked straight up to the boys, laying beside Dean. You awed, seeing the cat and blonde lab together. Sam whimpered and scooted closer to you, looking up at you with his big eyes. You sighed, rubbing his head. "I'm not giving you guys up," they all looked at you expectantly.
"Let's go on a walk, and how about I give you some canned food?" You spoke to the dogs and cat. They all circled your legs in excitement, purring and barking. You got out the dish for Cas, opening a can of cat food and dumping it neatly in the plate. You sat it down for him, leaving the room and grabbing two leashes. The dogs barrelled into the foyer, their nails clicking on the floor. "C'mon, let's go!" You said, enthusiastically, clipping on their leashes to their collars. Opening the door, the dogs pulled you out. You managed to close the door before they partially dragged you down the sidewalk.
"Hey—hey! Slow it down, boys!" You laughed, smiling. Suddenly, you ran into someone, knocking you on your butt. Your dogs stopped and stood in front of you, growling and snarling. Looking up, you widened your eyes in disbelief. "I'm so sorry, I didn't see you there." The man apologised, holding out a hand to help you up. "N-no problem." You stammered, trying to keep fangirl mode down.
You just met JARED-freaking-PADALECKI! You screamed at yourself.
Jared chuckled at you. "I take it that you are a fan?" You nervously nodded, playing with the dogs leashes. Dean sized up Jared, his growling going down to a bark in his throat. Sam, however, bounded around Jared, tying him up in his leash. Jared turned around, trying to stop your dog. "Sammy!" You scolded, making him stop and walk towards you, tripping Jared down to his butt too.
You gasped, reaching your hand down for him. "I'm so sorry! They sometimes get out of hand around strangers—" Jared waved it off, chuckling. "It's ok. You live around here?" Slowly, you nodded, realising you were in your pyjamas; short-shorts and a crop-top. You couldn't help it, it got hot in your room at night. And that it was almost summer. "Two-three blocks down that way." You said, easing into conversation.
Jared, took your hand, standing up. "Funny. I live just over there," he pointed behind him. "I just came for a walk. Do you want to come inside? It's hot out here." Gulping you accepted his request, following beside him like a lost puppy. You had to fast walk to keep up with his long strides, making you work up a sweat. "People weren't kidding about you and your long legs," you joked, focusing on staying beside him.
He just laughed. "Jensen says that, and Misha." He stopped at a remotely good-looking house—not that you expected anything less. "Come in," he said, holding the door open for you. You walked in, you dogs following slowly; scared and frightened in their new surrounding. You turned around, seeing Jared take off his shoes. "Oh! Sorry," you said hastily, taking off your shoes. Jared laughed at you, thinking it was adorable at how flushed you were.
"No big deal," you looked down, tugging on the leashes for Sam and Dean to sit on the floor in the foyer. "Um, do you have some place I could maybe put them?" You asked, referring to the dogs. He pointed to the open area. "Let 'em loose, it's alright." You unhooked them, watching them dart off together.
"So, why were you out walking your dogs on the hottest day of the year?" Jared asked, sitting back in his chair. "Well, it may be my last," you noted sadly, watching the two dogs fight playfully. "And I also have to get rid of my cat, Cas," you frowned, looking at the cup of cold lemonade. You sunk back into the chair, seeing Jared give you an unreadable look.
"So, why were you out walking on the hottest day of the year?" You asked, wishing to change the subject. "Just walking," he shrugged, leaning forward. "Are you shooting here?" You asked, sipping your lemonade. "Yea, we'll be here for another month or two." He answered, sitting his cup on a coaster. He licked his lips, standing up. "Why do you have to give them away? Your pets." Jared, sat next to you, observing you.
Taking a deep breath, you explained why; ranting and letting out everything you've held for the last 3 years. "Wow," Jared breathed out, frowning. Immediately you said that everything would be fine. Jared didn't look convinced. "Why don't you stay here? I mean, we would live with each other on and off again, but you can keep your pets." You felt as if time stopped and you were about to go into cardiac arrest.
"You're joking?" He shook his head. You stood up and went to hug him, stopping halfway. "I...I don't think I can accept," he frowned, standing up in front of you. "Why?" "Genevieve, won't she be mad at me?" Jared shook his head. "It can be our secret," he whispered in your ear, making your breath hitch. "O-Ok," you heard yourself say before you could think.
Jared smiled. "Great, I'll have people pick up all your stuff by tomorrow afternoon and have it transferred here." You looked down, feeling elated for the first time in years. "Thank you," you whispered shyly, clasping and un-clasping your hands together. "No problem," you looked up, realising he was closer. You tugged your crop-top down, trying to wiggle your shorts lower.
"I look forward to being roommates," he whispered in your ear, leaving a kiss on your cheek.
"I look forward to seeing you everyday."
