MICHAELA's POV

I heard my alarm clock ring.

I got up from bed carefully because I can still feel the pain in my back. But even before my feet could touch the bedroom floor, someone suddenly gave me a kiss on the cheek.

Once I saw a glimpse of her face, I couldn't help myself to embrace her. I'm now at peace. She's safe. She's now... safe. I can finally breathe.

"Good morning, Mommy!" maligayang bati ng aking anak.

I sat properly so I could have a better view of her face.

Come to think of it, I barely remember myself sleeping on the bed because the last thing I remember I was me sleeping on the couch. Or maybe... because I'm just too tired to even think well.

"Come here. I want to give you a good morning kiss." I said as I tapped the mattress.

When she successfully sat on my side, I gave her a lot of kisses and tickled her a bit. The way she laughs with her shrill voice is so soothing and pleasing. My mornings won't be complete without hearing it.

"You're finally awake."

I almost jumped out of surprise. James was sitting on the couch and he must've been watching us for awhile now. I feel awkward everytime he looks at me.

"You didn't attend today's class?"

"I didn't. There's nobody available who could watch over our kid. And also, I let you have a good sleep since you needed it the most not just physically, but mentally as well."

Will I feel sorry because he wasn't able to attend the class today or will I feel grateful for being so thoughtful?

Ang sakit ng likod ko. I think it's better to have it checked. I'll see if I can go to the infirmary later.

I massaged my back gently.

"Mommy, I will check." sabi ni Naya.

"Mommy, you have a big bruise on your back. Though it's not serious, it's only a minor injury but I I think it's better to have it checked as soon as possible to prevent it from getting worse."

She's so smart in this. She might be a healer one day once she grows up and I can't wait to witness that. I feel blessed for having a daughter that can take care of me.

"Naya, Mommy's fine. Later I will go to the infirmary to have it checked."

Pilit akong ngumiti.

"Daddy, look how hard headed Mommy is. She doesn't listen."

Oh, boy.

Did she just scold me!? She even reported to her dad like I'm a criminal!

I'm expecting James to be grumpy but the one I'm not expecting the most is what I've witness just now.
