And I'm with Kiefer again.
Literally.
Ever since my realizations and the conversation I had with Josh, I decided to lay low a little bit. Not that I was avoiding him, but more for myself. I needed ample time to set my priorities and feelings straight. I just needed to sort things out of myself. I needed to cover the hole I have slowly dug myself and put it into oblivion.
And after almost a month, naging ready na rin akong harapin siya ulit.
Don't get me wrong. I did not set ignore him or anything like that. We maintained communication. In fact we text or call whenever our time allows us to. But it was all done in moderation. Just petty little chat-chats now and then. But, I made sure we didn't see each other in that time.
Naging mabuti naman ang epekto nun sa akin, kasi I feel refocused and rejuvenated. I got in touch with my stable self na pansamantalang nawala when he came storming back in my life again. And never, ever, will I let it go ever again. I need my sanity.
The time off made me sane.
Sane enough for me to be ready to face him again.
Unlike what I was expecting, he had no qualms or complaints about me not seeing him for an entire month. Naiintindihan niya raw naman kasi na my life revolves around so many things now just like his. Di na gaya ng dati. In fact, he was more grateful for the time I have given him today. Akala raw niya given my busy schedule with friends, trainings, school and work, e, two months bago pa niya ako makita ulit.
He has really matured.
Kiefer: Ly, do you need a refill?
He was pertaining to my cup of coffee. Kanina pa kami dito sa coffee shop na paborito namin, and we are actually studying. Well, at least I am, habang siya ay may paper raw na tinatapos sa laptop niya. Pero if I know, nagbabasa na naman yan ng basketball websites.
I looked at my cup and it was indeed empty. I didn't notice that, and knowing that I love coffee so much, he was about to ask the waiter for a refill, but I stopped him.
Ly: I'm thinking of having a frappe instead for round two.
He eyed me suspiciously.
Ly: What? It's not like you haven't seen me get a frappe before.
He then conceded and went to the counter to order my frappe. After a few, he went back to our table which was situated at the farthest corner of the store, bringing a tray. I eyed what was on the tray and was shocked to see he got me two slices of ube cake along with my frappe.
Ly: Tama ba ako pag nag assume ako na para sakin lahat ng dala mo?
Kief: Para kanino pa ba?
I looked at his side of the table and noticed that the blueberry cheesecake he had ordered an hour ago was still untouched. Well, he was really not one for sweets. But I guess he was just really busy browsing through his favorite sport websites to even care about the food he does not truly like.
I glared at him before going back to my readings. He has always viewed me as matakaw at hindi ko naman yun ikakaila. But sometimes, I wish he would be more subtle about it.
I have no complains, though, when he puts it upon himself to buy me food without me paying for it. Hello, minsan lang manlibre si Kiefer Ravena, kaya lulubusin ko na.
Ly: Kainin mo na yang cheesecake mo hoy. Kanina pa yan.
He has just finished putting all the food on our table and is in the process of putting away the tray. A waiter gladly helped him with it. He sat down on his seat again and went back to his laptop.
