today is the day you dreaded because its the first year your spending your birthday away from your family. you didn't have the time to fly home with work and the avengers. you been living with the avengers for 5 years but this is the first year your going to be with them for your birthday because you usually take the week off and fly to (your home town). you had to stay because you were about to finally finish the project you have been working on with Bruce for the last 3 months.
"(y/n) can you hand me that test tube" Bruce asked pointing to one of the test tubes near you.
"yes, can you hand me that empty beaker" you answered as you guys traded supplies. you finished pouring stuff into the beaker as tony came running into the lab looking like he got beat up. "whoa tony what happened"
"I was sparing with Natasha. but that's not important at the moment. come to the lounge for a moment" tony said give a look to Bruce and he got up and left.
"but tony we are almost done with this" you said but tony wasn't listening and picked you up and carried you to the lounge. "put me down tony NOW" tony did as you said and put you down.
"HAPPY BIRTHDAY (Y/N)" everyone shouted making you jump.
"we know you usually spend your birthday with your family and you were busy this year so as you second family we wanted to throw you a party" Steve said as giving you a hug.
"thanks guys I needed this but can I go back to work" you asked
"no (y/n) your not working on your birthday" nick fury said as he walked out of the shadows making you jump again.
"you got fury in on this really?" you sighed
"yes it was my idea knowing that you would want to work instead of celebrating" nat said bringing in a cake. you sat down on the couch as everyone started pulling out gifts. the first one you opened was from nat it was a Colt M1911 pistol.
"thanks nat I needed a new gun" you laughed. you opened tony's next it was neckless with a little bedazzled gun charm you laughed and thanked tony.
"it also works a taser" tony added. you laughed and moved to the next gift. it was from Clint he got you a nerf gun and then he proceeded to shot you with one matching yours so you returned fire. you and Clint had a nerf war for the next 15 minutes. thor stopped you by handing you his gift which was an asgardian female's warrior outfit it almost matches lady sif's.
"I love it thor thank you"
"lady sif helped me pick it out for you" thor admitted.
you grabbed fury's next "you got me something sir?" you asked as you opened the small box containing a small blade.
"yes and it may be small but it can do a lot of damage" fury stated and you thanked him.
"it sounds like someone I know" tony joked and you punched him in the shoulder "ouch that proves my point." you laughed and grabbed Bruce's gift next you opened a bag to find the microscope you been wanting. you jumped up and gave Bruce a hug.
"thanks Bruce I needed a new one after I smashed my last one out of anger" you laughed
"yea and lets keep the smashing to the hulk okay" Bruce laughed.
you grabbed the next gift that was from Loki who sadly couldn't join. you open the box to find one of Loki's favorite book with a note saying " sorry I couldn't be there but I think you would love this asgardian book that I had translated into English" you smiled and moved on to Steve's gift. Steve got you an old-fashioned pen that doubles as a laser.
" I know you love old-fashion things so I gave you one with a twist" Steve stated
" I loved Steve thanks" you said hugging him. you spent the rest of the day play games and eating cake.
