"Y/n, where are you going?" Dinah asked when I reached the front of the mansion and saw her with Normani sitting on the tea house we have on the front yard.
It's basically just a place without walls and only black metal bars supporting the roof, with metal chairs and table—with vines everywhere.
"What are you doing here?" I returned with a question, finding their activity today different.
"Having coffee?" Dinah answered uncertainly, raising the white cup in her hand.
"That's new," I said, walking towards them as I adjusted the strap of my messenger bag. "You're supposed to be having sex by now, aren't you?"
"Oh, please," Normani scoffed, waving her hand dismissively. "So, where are you up to?"
"The coffee shop," I answered nonchalantly.
"You mean the coffee shop where Kinsley is," Dinah spoke, showing an amused look. "What are you guys, really? It's been a week and you're constantly talking—that's something."
"And that something is friends," I told her, wanting to escape the topic. "We're just friends, Dmac."
"Oh, really?" Normani queried, smirking at the process as she was giving me the look they used to give back when we were high school when they're teasing Lauren and I. "Calling each other late at night, having a coffee to Merry Bites Diner even when you can ask Tyrell to make you the same heavenly coffee—that isn't something only a friend does."
"Tell me, do you like her?" Dinah chirped, raising her brow at me.
"You said you're still in love with Lauren?" The dark toned girl asked, causing my mind to work again.
"I know, I am," I admitted, looking anywhere but their eyes. "I don't know. Maybe I wanted to move on, but I'm not so sure. I just—I don't think we'll work anymore. I mean, we're getting to know each other again and still in love with one another, but I don't think we'd be able to make it work with everything around us."
"You're scared about getting in a relationship with her because of the people?" Dinah concluded.
"Maybe." I shrugged. "Dinah, we can't even come out to them because we're afraid to ruin our band's name."
"What more if they knew that you're dating your bandmate," Normani followed, having her statement as a big point the three of us could agree. "But do you still want her?"
"Of course I do," I answered truthfully. "I'm just not sure if she still wants me, too."
"Is that the reason why you're going after Kinsley?" Dinah asked, her tone gentle and not even persuasive. "Because you knew she likes you, too? And in that way, you have some confirmation so, you go for what's so sure."
