"Hi, my name is Juliana," the fan said as the staff gave her the microphone.
We were currently on soundcheck and were having the question and answer portion where we—well—answer the question from the fans. The six of us said hi to the fan as we sat on our stools.
"The question is for everyone," Juliana said, holding the mic and her phone in one hand. "Do you guys believe in soulmates?"
"I do," I said, the quickest to answer which earned the attention of everyone and even causing a few to laugh because of my eagerness. "I'm sorry, I was just waiting for that question for a while now."
I heard Lauren's giggle like a baby and turned to her, grinning at my girlfriend as she gave me a wink. I felt my cheeks burn, turning my attention back to Juliana.
"But I do believe in soulmates," I said, continuing my speech. "I do believe that in this world, you will meet—or not—that one person who has the same level of everything with you. This person will have the same interests and tastes as you and together the both of you will help turn each other into a better human being—you know what I mean? Like, you'll connect in a way that no one ever had with you and you will be surprised because it just—it feels right like, you'll know that you two are meant to meet each other just by how you can understand each other very well, how you can read their mind easily, how you can relate to them, how you can make them feel better, how you can finish each other's sentences, and such things like that. Sometimes, you wouldn't need words to tell your soulmate what you have to say. One look is all it takes and you'll already know. I mean, of course you'll need to vocalize your thoughts, too, at some point but what I'm really trying to say is that with your soulmate, you don't have to try to be understood because he or she already does."
They all started clapping and I blushed, not expecting that it would actually end up that way. Juliana seemed to be satisfied with my answer and Lauren suddenly spoke.
"But it's not always about romance," she said, making me nod in agreement.
"Yeah, it's not always about romance," I said, forgetting to say that earlier.
"And your significant other isn't necessarily your soulmate, guys," Camila said, pointing at the crowd. "They may be sometimes but your lover and your soulmate can be different."
"True," Lauren said, and I turned to watch art slowly spill out of her pretty mouth. "Sometimes, as unfortunate it sounds, your soulmate is just a tool for you to become a better person. He or she is someone who will help you build a better version of yourself and the truth is they don't always stay. However, I believe in soulmates in a way different with y/n." She cast me a glance and I smiled at her, the green-eyed girl reciprocating the action before turning back ahead of us. "I believe that we have plenty of soulmates in this world and not just one. There would be a lot of people who will be able to connect with you and who will help you. One may come and go but someone will arrive once more and continue the task of being a soulmate and it goes on."
"How about you, Mani?" Juliana asked.
