A/N:
LAUREN'S TOO CUTE HERE OHMYGOD BABY
lol sorry carry on
➳
I didn't mean to be too dramatic, but when Lauren's running towards me with teary eyes, I couldn't help but feel like we were in a movie. She leaped into my arms and I held her tight, spinning her around. God, and there's her vanilla scent that I missed so much. I was actually holding her again. After a few nights of being without her, she was in my arms again.
But my attention was caught when the I heard sobs escape her mouth. I carefully brought her down, keeping my arm around her waist as I tucked her hair behind her ear.
"Baby, why are you crying?" I asked softly, placing a lasting kiss on her forehead before looking down at her again. "Hey, don't cry. Shh. I'm here."
"Y-you were leaving," she said, pulling me into another hug again. Her grip was tight on my torso as she cried harder against my chest and I felt my heart breaking as she cried.
I rubbed her back, kissing the crown of her head. "I was leaving, but I told you that I will be coming back, right? What did you think?"
"I-I thought you wanted to leave me," she said in between sobs, my heart shattering as I felt the guilt inside me.
No matter how much I tried to ensure Lauren how much I love her, I understood that she could still doubt my feelings for her because of fights like this. But that's also a reason why I love Lauren. She's a little sensitive, insecure, and afraid of things from happening, but that's why she has me. My role in this relationship is to make sure that she isn't feeling anything of those and to keep her positive and maintain balance for the both of us. I love her and I wouldn't mind reminding her each day.
"No, baby. I'm not going to leave you," I said, gently rocking her side to side.
"But you said you wouldn't be coming back for a while and you needed a break from this and I thought that maybe you don't want me anymore and you're tired sticking up with my atti—"
"Lauren, stop," I said, cutting her off from the speech she was giving me only to degrade herself. I pulled away slightly from her as I looked down, placing my finger under her chin to lift her gaze to mine. "Here, let me see that beautiful face I've fallen in love with. Come on."
That elicited a giggle from the other girl and I smiled when she did, admiring her profile up close. I repositioned my arm to circle her shoulder and I leaned down to kiss her cute little nose before looking into her eyes again. They looked tired and dull, but they never failed to make me fall in love again with this girl in front of me. I kissed her tears away before squeezing her, forcing her face to hide on my neck as I let out a noise to match my action. She giggled again and I grinned before deciding to look at her.
