C A M I L A

I was sitting on the balcony of the library, earphones plugged in my ears as I was trying to read. Recording of music is coming and I'm being wise, using the most of my time doing the things that would relax me before I get stressed for the upcoming week.

I was interrupted though, when the music stopped and I saw Dinah holding my phone in her hand.

"What?" I asked, pulling the earphones out of my ears.

"Where's Lauren and y/n?" She questioned, her voice sounding a little bit irritated.

"They've gone to clear things out," I stated nonchalantly, focusing my gaze back to the book.

"You're kidding, right?" The Polynesian replied, finding the revelation impossible to happen.

Between Dinah and I, it was her who got affected the most in y/n's situation. I know that I've went through all what she had but it was always Dinah who works to make things better for y/n. She nearly didn't think of herself—she have always put y/n first. Normani, Ally and I have noticed this and at first we thought she was in love with y/n. It was funny because we were blinded by her very much concern and confused romantic love with platonic love—the simplest but important love of all.

The three of us, y/n, Dinah and I have grown up together, and of course I was saddened, too, with what has happened to our best friend. But, it was Dinah who was closer with y/n. When we were in grade school, it was the Polynesian who would protect y/n from the bullies in our school. They bullied her because of her sexuality, and Dinah was never happy about it. They worked as buddies, standing up for each other when the need arise. It was a beautiful friendship until Lauren happened and left our best friend heartbroken.

We could've been mad with Lauren, too, but we understand her condition and the reason why she had to do that. We couldn't do anything and we can't meddle—y/n doesn't really like people prying in her personal life.

"I wish I was," I retorted, nose attached on the book. "We all know what would happen when she falls in love with her again."

"Exactly, so, why aren't you even bothered about this?" She sat beside me, her worried demeanor suddenly growing.

"Because, Dinah, this is what we planned, isn't it?" I reminded her, dropping the book on my lap and facing the taller girl. "Lauren's the only way to put the pieces back together. We just hope that history won't repeat itself."

"What if it did?"

"We trusted Lauren, we should trust y/n, too. Besides, they both got hurt from their past and I'm sure they wouldn't jump back into breaking each other's hearts again, would they?" I spoke confidently, showing her a certain look.

"Why are you so sure about this?"
