Chapter 10

The Sea Monster Inside

Brooke's POV

I walked down the streets of Florida waiting for my bus to get here which I reserved a while ago.

I took a look at the scenery and headed to the hill I almost died at. Before you ask no I'm not jumping.

I wanted to take a look at the beautiful scenery and the last view of the house I lived in. I then saw 3 cars leave with everyone in the pack in them.

I got confused about that but ignored it. I sat on the edge looking around. I think about  The trees, the beach, my family, and then the horrible person I've come to be.

I felt someone walk up on the hill.

"Is that you? Brooke?"

I turned around and saw James. The blonde haired freak who everyone liked but he didn't give many a chance.

Yet he kissed me but I plain right denied him. He wanted me to be his and I just said no and ran away.

"Brooke. What are you doing up here again?"

"Don't talk to me, don't touch me, and don't ever hurt me. I'm stronger than I look. I see you everyday at school and you don't even know who I am yet I talk to you almost everyday. I talk to my house mate Skyllar every single day and she doesn't know it's me James! I'm a downer. IM WORTHLESS OKAY? AND THIS IS WHY I AM RUNNING AWAY!"

"Brooke I didn't do anything. I- I-"

"I'm sorry James I just don't get how I'm still alive."

"Brooke your a special kid."

"Special? Me? No. Never."

"Brooke you don't know that you can change the way the water moves and how the wind moves. If your mad a Tornado, a Tsunami, or a Hurricane could happen just because of your anger. And if you cry it rains. If your happy it snows. That's why it doesn't snow often."

"You have to be lying right?"

"No I'm not Brooke. I know you are. If you cry and it starts raining don't say I didn't tell you."

.. I didn't answer and he left.

Is what he said true?

I then received a phone call from my brother Joey.

B- Brooke J- Joey

J- Hey Brooke are you okay?

B- I'm fine Joey. Im just taking a break from reality.

J- I just haven't talked to you since school started and neither has Maddie. What's going on Brooke?

B- Nothing. I'm totally fine. And I've been at school and i talk to one of you everyday. I know everything about her but you can't seem to figure that out. I'm sorry Joey. If I don't see you tonight I'm just outside thinking.

J- But Brooke we are all worried about you. We don't want you hurt. And you haven't met the new boys and girls yet that are coming into Florida.

B- What? Since when?

J- about a week. They aren't moving into our house but one close to here.

B- I can't believe Dad didn't tell me. I have to go.

J- Ok bye Brooke.

I hung up and looked at the sun. It was so bright and glistening. It was quite refreshing.

I waited for a while and the bus never stopped. So I trusted James in that I could control the water. So I stepped in and moved my hands up and suddenly all the water around me moved out of the way into a clear path.

This might be easier than I thought.
