"Man I'm sorry bro. I didn't know shit was gone go down like that. You been sleep for 3 days. Wake up bro."
I sat in the chair next to Quan and looked around.
Machines everywhere.
"This not you nigga. You tough as shit, ya mamas oldest."
The room door came open as Taj walked in.
"You good in here?"
I nodded my head.
"As good as I'm gone be. You good?"
I stood up and let her sit down.
She took a deep breath and looked at her brother.
"I just wish he'd wake up Ray and look at me with them big eyes."
I nodded my head.
"Me too, but we both know he stubborn as fuck. He'll wake up when he ready."
She sat there looking at him.
"So what happen?"
I knew it was coming but I was hoping not so soon.
"We had to work."
She gave me a stupid look.
"How did it go down?"
I shrugged.
"I don't even know. We didn't even get a chance to get out the car."
"Sound like a set up."
"Think so?"
She slowly nodded as my phone rung.
Phone: Omar
"What's up?"
"Where you at Ray?"
"Hospital. What's up?*
"How it's looking?"
"Good."
Omar got silent. I could hear him quietly talking to whoever was around.
"Come to the spot."
"Right now? I'm kinda bu..."
"Bring yo ass to the spot nigga ! At the hospital talking bout you busy. Be here in 20."
Laughter flowed through the phone as I hung up.
Taj read the expression on my face.
"What's wrong?"
I shook my head.
"Nun. I gotta go."
She stood there staring at me.
"No you don't. Fuck whoever that was."
"I got shit to handle Taj. I'll text you later iight?"
She nodded but I could tell she had an attitude as she gave me a hug.
I gave Quan a light tap on his arm.
"Wake up Q."
