Since everything that happen, Quan and Keisha had to get a bigger apartment. Ill be staying with them and Mon now.
"So you wanna tell me what happen? The truth."
Quan shut my door then sat on my bed. I took a deep breath and looked at my brother. "Promise you won't go off." He shook his head. "Can't make that promise lil sis. What's up?" I sat there getting my thoughts together.
"I was messing with an older man." He jerked his head looking at me. "Who is he?" I quickly shook my head. "Not important."
"Somebody beat yo ass and you gone tell me its not important. Who is the nigga?""Tony." His eyebrows raised as he looked at me. "Tony who?" I sat there. "He also goes by Omar." The look on his face told me everything, he's pissed. "What the hell Laysia?!" I shook my head as tears ran down my face. "People tried to warn me about him. I didn't listen, I should've listened."
I felt my brother wrap his arms round me. He held me tight and close to his chest. "Ill take care of him. You just leave them older niggas alone." I shook my head and wiped my face. "Its this guy name Rich. I really like him. He's not trying to have sex or anything. He checks on me all the time, he looks out for me." "Man sis you only 16. You got plenty of time to fuck with a nigga. You too young for this baby. Them niggas ain't no good. You young, you look older than ya age, you petite and you beautiful like ma. Of course they on you but they only want one thing." I sat up and looked at him. "He doesn't want that Quan. He wants to get to know me, he wants to protect me. He doesn't want sex."
He shook his head. "I understand that. How old is he?" "25." "25? Really?" I nodded. "He's a police officer, he has his own barbershop. A nice house, and when Im with him he treats me good." "Mama turning over in her grave man. We'll talk later. My baby sister fucking with a older nigga, this too much right now."
He shut my door as he walked out my room. I pulled out my phone and texted Rich.
Text: Rich
L: I told my brother about you. He's not feeling it.R: Who is your brother?
L: I have two. Quan and Mon. I told Quan. He walked out and told me its too much right now and we'll talk later.
R: Quan? Your brother is JaQuan?
L: Yeah. What's up?
R: Tell him I need to holla at him. Give him my number. Its nothing bad at all.
I got a gut feeling in my stomach that somethings going on. Quan tries his best to not let me know when shit going on but its something, I just know its something. He does the best he can to keep my mind clear of negative stuff. But somethings not right, I can feel it.
"Hey Lay you wanna go with me to the baby store?" Keisha peeked in my room with her purse on her arm. "Yeah ill go." I got up and threw on my maroon Pink jogging suit and my white forces.
We got to the store and started shopping for my nephew. I hesitated to ask Keisha about what's going on with Quan but I feel like I need to know. "Keisha something going on with Quan? I just have a feeling something is." She looked at me. "Too much going on Laysia to be honest. But its nothing for you to be worried about." She continued shopping. "Is Mon and Ray involved?" She took a deep breath. "Im not sure about Mon but Ray yes." I shook my head. "I wish they'd get out of the game." "You and I both but we can do nothing but pray for them. But how you been feeling? How you feel about being here in Columbia?" I shrugged my shoulders. "Its cool, its beautiful, haven't been here long enough to really say whether I like it or not." She nodded as she held up an outfit. "This is cute. You ready for a new school next week?" "Kinda, nobody knows who my brothers are, atleast not yet. Its like females hated me at SHS cause of who my brothers are. Its crazy."
"That's the world we live in sis, crazy." As we looked through cribs I felt my phone vibrating. I know its Rich. "Can I ask you something?" "What's up?" I stood there for a minute. "How do you feel about a young girl messing with an older guy?" She stopped and looked at me. "Quan told me. Honestly I feel if he tries to stop you, its just gone make you do it anyway. But I also feel like you should wait till your legal to take it there. Us telling you don't talk to him is not gone make you stop. Quan needs to check him out." A smile crept on my face.
I can't lie it felt good to hear her say that. For once someone kinda has my back.
