"Yo Ray, who is Tony?"
Ray and I sat on Keisha's porch outside her apartment.
"I don't know, what's up?"
"DC is me and Taj father bro."
Ray eyebrows lifted as she looked at me. I hit my cigarette as she took it in.
"Devonte Cowan's is y'all pops?"
I nodded my head as I drunk some of my beer.
"Yeap, and my moms got cancer man."
She shook her head as she finished rolling up.
"Damn, how she doing? And that mean Ms. Debra told her grandson about his father's killing without letting him know that's his father right?"
"Hell yeah. That shit was foul asf. And she not doing too good. Doc saying its just a matter of time yo."
Ray shook her head.
"My moms said after he was killed, DC best friend, Tony, took over and started a war with the South that's still going on."
Ray sat there and looked at me wide eyed.
"What girl?"
"Omar."
I looked at her crazy.
"What about him?"
"Omar is Tony. He use to go by Tony Montana. Dumb ass name he wanted mfs to call him, ask Ju."
My blood boiled as I sat and thought about it.
I have heard somebody call that nigga Tony before.
"You think he killed him?"
"Omar is a grimey ass nigga Quan. Look what he did to us. If he didn't kill him he had him killed. Jealousy will make a nigga do shit like that, and yo dad was making money out the ass, now Omar is. Put it all together Q."
I sat and thought for a minute. Shit making sense now. Its all adding up.
"Let's go, we gone find out everything I wanna know."
We both jumped up and got ready.
"You know I ride with you bro."
I understand my girl pregnant. I'm gone be here for my baby.
