Hearing gun shots then shortly feeling a man's rough hands lift me up scared me to my grave and back. No lights are on, nobody's talking, just darkness.

"You good baby?"

Quan?

I looked up at the dark man carrying me and the beard confirmed it all. "What's going on?" The roughness and constant bouncing from him walking fast made every part of my body ache in terrible pain. "Nothing for you to worry about. Let's just get you taken care of."

After being carried a lil while longer I was placed into the back of a car. "Can somebody tell me what's going on?" I groaned in pain. "You good, we got you." Ray looked me in my eyes. "But who got shot? I heard a gunshot." She shook her head. "Don't worry about that. We going home." I shifted around in the backseat sitting myself up. "Can I at least get some pain pills? Something?" Ray looked at Quan before nodding. "Get her some pills man. She bruised up real bad."

After riding a lil longer we stopped at a Walmart. Ray got out on her own to get something strong that'll put me to sleep. "Quan what's up? What happen?" He sighed and looked at me through the rear view mirror. "Taj I did what I had to do. I did what I had to do for our safety, for you, for all of us."

He shook his head and ran his hand down his face. "How long Trell been dead?" I thought back to the day I watched Trell take his last breath. "A couple days, like three days. I couldn't do nothing for him, I could barely move. I begged him to keep breathing, I tried to talk to him but he didn't make it." Quan shook his head as Ray came back out with my meds and some water and a couple snacks.

I dozed off after about 10 minutes of riding down the highway. My body ached so bad it felt as if someone was breaking my bones slowly one by one. I wouldn't wish this pain on my worst enemy.
