Meet the academy

Ben's POV:

I know Luke tries only to warn us about this uprising force, but something about it sounds strange and weird. I must dismiss this thought now and continue normally with my daily routines, but still keep this in mind, in the background, just in case something really gets serious.

Luke went with us inside the tall stone building to find Dorothylla, so together we can show her the new place where she will spend most of her time. For the weekends her mother and I have decided to take her home and spend some quality time together as a family.

The usual sounds and noises of people talking, yelling and fighting can be heard in the background, as we walk ahead. I spotted my daughter standing near the fighting pit curiously watching two boys train with their glowing swords. Her eyes are wide open in awe as she sees and hears the rapid fight in front of her.

The two boys are few years older than her, and I clearly remember their names because they are my students. Oten and Blek are smart, ambitious and talented users of the force. They were between the first students that started attending this school. Both of them lost their parents in the war and their only chance was to come here and learn to train and control their powers. I always admired their determination to continue going and to make something to change their position and status for the better.

I reached Dorothylla first and smiled warmly at her. She replied me back with a huge green on her soft face. Her hands got up, begging me to get her in my hands. Without hesitation i did as she asked and took her in my loving arms. She is getting bigger and heavier each day, oh how fast do kids grow. 

I kissed her rose cheek and softly brushed my left palm through her thick black locks. Luke and Rey stopped next to me, and for a moment we all started watching the fight in front of us.

Oten and Blek finished shortly and shook their hands politely. Just then they saw us and bowed with their heads, we all did the same.

"Master Ben we have been training all morning, I think we did better than yesterday." Oten commented. He is right, this time they did a lot better, with higher speed, fast moves and smart attacks.

"Yes, this is very well done. You are certainly tired, you should go and rest, or meditate in the gardens."

"We will, thank you master." Blek muttered. 

"Before you do, I want for you to meet my daughter, Dorothylla. She will start training here and I want her to meet new people, to make some friends. To feel more at home." I explained. 

They immediately looked at her direction and smiled, their weary faces lighten up a bit.

"We will promise to watch over her and keep her safe. We will try to make her stay more enjoyable." They both said, eagerly.

"Thank you, that is good news. Now go and relax a bit." Rey answered while taking our daughter from my hands. She kissed her cheek and let her down on the ground. 

"Well, my dearest it is time to finally show you around." Luke took her small hand into his own and we all started walking around.

We showed her everything there is. Every single part of the academy, and she loved every bit. I can see her curiosity grow even bigger with every passing moment. She already found few friends with whom she would spend her time, and I am happy for her.

"Tomorrow is your big day sweetheart. You will train first with your mother, and then when you master some skills you will be trained by me. If something happens and we have to go somewhere for work your grand uncle will inform you. We will stay in touch, and see each other every day. So don't worry about anything. Any problem you have, be free to tell us and the other teachers. Do not be scared to talk about anything." I insured her, and hugged her one last time before she went in her dormitory for bed.

The first day went better than i thought, and I hope it stays that way. From now on this is her second home. This is the place where she will learn to respect, understand teamwork, socialize and most of all find herself and understand who she really is as a person.
