Ben's POV:

I am running towards the massive building with Rey by my side. I am utterly grateful that we passed our differences and found a way out of the past. She is once again my wife, my loving partner that I tend to spend my lifetime with.

Huge grin escapes my lips every time I secretly glance at her. She runs like a jaguar. Fast, concentrated and precise. I am a bit slower, but still keep up with her.

We have decided to go straight to mother and talk to her about everything. Rey promised she would be calm and collected, while the general answers her questions. After that discussion is over, hopefully in a positive way, we will turn new chapter in our life and will construct a plan about getting Dorothylla and Luke back.

We found our way out of the garden quickly and proceeded towards the building. Now we are at the airport which is just in front of the main entrance. I remembered the day we had our first training,  she was later taken by the First Order , and I found Poe here with his ship, well the situation is similar, the only difference being that Rey is here with me.

"Poe!" She called with a loud voice, cheerful that she saw one of her best friends.

"Hey honey, how are you?" He asked her gently, I suppose he knows about the situation. He embraced her into a tiny hug and turned to me, his smile still on his face, mine too.

"Hey Poe, how are you pal?!" I greeted him, taking his hand into a friendly shake. I am happy that we succeeded into becoming friends and ally. I feel like Kylo Ren is long lost for both him and Finn.

"Hey to you too, buddy!" He called. Rey stepped next to me and took my hand into hers.

"Poe, I am sorry but we need to rush, see you in few hours when we will discuss a new mission, cool?" She walked few steps, ready to run again, but still waiting for his answer.

"Of course it is cool, I am always ready for a mission, do you want me to tell Finn?"

"Yes!" I answered this time, he nodded and we were off.

We passed through the mass of workers and pilots and stopped in front of her cabinet. I knocked three times, until the door opened widely. We were greeted with an elder like version of my mother. I got worried the moment I saw her. She looks older just in few days. More silver locks of hair fall on her soft cheeks, her eyes are dull and weary, their usual hazel brown color is darker, without a single spark inside. Her cloths are the only ones that stayed the same, she is dressed in her usual general odor.

"Mother!" I spoke first. She didn't say anything just let us inside. "What happened?"

"Nothing Ben, don't ask." She mumbled, her back turned towards us, her eyes again looking out of the window. Rey seems to be as worried as much as me at the moment, she didn't expect to see her like this.

"Mom, please talk to us." My heart jumped at the sound of Rey's voice calling Leia mom, I haven't heard it for months. It feels like my mother felt the same and instantly turned around.

"I thought you would never call me that again, I thought that you are disgusted by me." She told her lightly.

"Yes, I found out the truth, and yes I feel broken and betrayed, but I still want to hear your side of the story. Why did you do it? Why did you send that army in Amerath? Tell me why were they killing innocent people...like...like my mother?" Her eyes are filled with tears, her body is lightly shaking and her voice is loud. I felt the need take her hand into mine, securing that she doesn't fall on the ground.

"I never gave the army an order to kill. They did it by themselves. Their order was to take the child and to leave the planet, but your parents didn't want to let you go and they had to find a way to do it. I am sorry about your mother, I...I never intended for her to die. She was one of the most generous and wise people I have ever known, a living proof that a commoner can be a great ruler. Above all she was my friend, and that day when I found out what happened I was devastated, I didn't want to believe, I shouted at the army, at my workers, but it was no use, she was already gone. That's why I told Luke to care for you like his own child, and he did, he loves you like a father, and I like a mother. Never forget that. Yes I know that you are lost between this and that side, but remember that I will always support you, no matter what." Tiny tears rolled down her wrinkled face and sparkled at the sunlight. I swallowed, and looked at Rey. Her tears have already fallen, her eyes locked at Leia.

"You...you are right, what happened belongs in the past, it is up to all of us now to change the future. I don't want another war upon our heads. I don't want innocent lives to get lost because of our reckless doing. We need to...to make a plan." I can be only proud that I have a woman such as mine, brave beyond measure.

"Rey, I am thankful that I have a daughter like you in my family, I just hope that you will forgive me one day." Mother looks better already, her eyes seem to return their color.

"Maybe, one day, yes. I believe that time will cure us all and we will find our right path, again. I have decided I am going to confront the king of Amerath, and try to clear things up, Ben you are coming with me, it is time we make things right and bring our daughter back...."
