Thirds POV:
Something incredible and totally unexpected happened at the very end of our thrilling story.
The king of the famous and majestic world of Amerath decided to finally meet his former opponent. Of course he didn't want to even think about her, but his loving daughter succeeded in advising him to at least give it a proper try.
He wasn't too happy about that, but still resolved to make changes. He knew deep inside his heart that Rey only meant well, trying to lighten up their families name.
The good news were that the dark mark slowly started to fade, and she was the main cause. He smiled to himself, he must be the luckiest man alive to have a daughter as bold and determined as her. She is a rare flower, truly.
As the meeting was arranged to be set in his castle, the main conference room soon started to fill with people from the two distant planets.
His employees and most trusted advisers were already placed on their arranged seats, silently leaning on the enormous vintage mahogany table. He smirked to himself, such view of so many folks present in his official chambers was a rare sight these years, very rare indeed.
Today is the day when he will discuss their relationship inside the family and their politics. It is hard to imagine that they will be ally ever again, but at least they have to pass the enemy status, the mark that was engraved on their counties for too long.
"Father, they are here." Soft voice called from behind his wide back, informing him about the arrival of the Resistance.
He turned around to meet her hazel brown eyes that were just as same as his wife's. He chuckled to himself, proud that she inherited her brains and optimism.
"Yes I will be right there to greet and welcome them inside my home." He replied, his eyes not leaving her own. "Would you like to accompany me...as my daughter...if you will?"
Her eyes sparkled. "Of course I will...your majesty...father."
"I prefer dad, that is the first thing I'm to you, not a king, I'm your father." Her lips were decorated with wide smile, showing her cheerfulness that things were returning to their formal form, the one before he went all evil, rude and obsessed with his vengeance.
"Fine, then...dad. I will inform Ben and Dorothylla, so they can catch up with us." Her words opened a small wound in his body, one that is still burning him from inside, like an illness that still wasn't cured entirely.
"Um, about that. Rey, tell him I'm sorry, truly and honestly sorry, he didn't deserve it. It was like my blood was boiling with such temperature, treating to erupt every second. I won't lie to you, I wanted them dead, all of his family except you and Dorothylla of course. I wanted them to pay for my wife's long lost life, the woman that I will forever love, till my very last breath, till my very last moment. She will always stay in my mind and heart, always."
He uttered in a rapid speed, his chest going up and down wildly, like it won't even slow down. On the corners of his eyes there was a small tear hiding, afraid to be shown in public. The one that represents his inner conflict, still battling inside.
Rey was dismayed, her heart pounding against her thorax, her mind processing his emotional lines. This wasn't the man she used to know, the one that scared the living hell out of her, the one that was inches away from becoming a monster, no...this was a crushed an beaten soul that just like her mother told her...got lost in the way. She was right, right about everything, Rey smiled while petting her father's wrinkled cheek.
"She believed in you, more than I ever did. She trusted that her husband will return to his previous self." His eyes scanned her face, confused of her words.
"Who did you see?" He murmured, his voice quivering.
"Mom, your wife. She kept me company while I was deciding to stay or to go on another place, while I was in a coma from the heart attack. She forced me against leaving you all suffer, she wanted me to finish what she couldn't do, to return you the way she always knew you were...ah yes and one more thing... Ben's whole family is long forgiven, she just wants to see us being happy, like we used to be." His hidden tear now escaped his eyes and fell on her warm arm.
"That sounds just like her, oh god I was so lost into killing your husband that I didn't even think about your health, Rey I'm truly sorry, I couldn't have lived if you didn't survive." His iris got watery once again.
"There will be time for you to make up for it, first step is to express regret to my husband, and then to everyone else."
"Of course I will, but there is one other thing." Rey looked confused, with no idea inside her head. What was he going to say?
"I want to make you the queen of Amerath, along with...with Ky...Ben as your king. I'm getting older each day, and soon will be not capable of ruling a planet and nation. What do you say?"
"Of course I will dad, as long as Ben is next to me."
"Then is settled, let's meet the former princess. Shall we?" She nod and they both escorted his chamber giggling like never before.
And just after few hours of discussing their situation it was pronounced that Rey will continue living on Amerath along with her family.
It was a great idea in any way. The politics will be cleared and the two planets will once again become ally, while Luke's burned academy will be exchanged with a better and bigger one, here at Amerath.
Poe and Finn both decided to return to the base, but with a promise to visit often, Leia returned with them.
Ben and Rey lived a happy life, ruling rightfully over their lands...with few adventures here and there, making their life all the more exiting...
