Have you ever witness something you never thought would probably happen in your life, yet it's there, right in front of you and you're so strucked and froze not knowing what to do so you're left dumbfounded?
Like right now.
Harry comes out of Nate's room slowly, his legs growing weak and I manage to grab his shoulders before he falls. There are papers in his hand, crumpled and newly written. He lunge into me and drop his weight on my body. His hand clutch the papers ever so slightly which makes it more rumpled than it already is.
"Harry.."
He doesn't answer; he just dramatically take a long sigh. Anne and his husband stand beside me, waiting for his son to say what happened in that room between him and his step brother worriedly. He notices this, so he lift his face off my shoulders to take a good look at us.
He still hasn't said something.
Instead of doing that, he does the latter and sit on one of the chairs. Bending his head down, he let out a small whimper and send his fingers around his hair and mess it up.
From the corner of my eye, he looks extremely broken.
I rush out to reach him a second after. "Harry?"
"Harry, I'm here. What happened?"
He's being unresponsive.
"Talk to me," I trail my fingers around his arm and found its way to his hand, intertwining it. He squeeze under my touch. "Please."
My head turns to Anne, who's looking at us expectantly. She then approach Nate's room and take a peek on the small windows. Due to hospital's privacy, she can't see much. All she saw is Nate laying down in bed.
"Harry," my other hand sneak its way to harrow down his curly hair on his face, forcing him to face me. "Say something. Please." On impulse, my palm rests on his cheek and rubbing his face gently with my thumb.
"You were there for almost thirty minutes. Doctor said we shouldn't come in unless Nate ordered us to; regardless if it's a family or relatives. I.. I want to see him Harry. Your parents too. Did he order us to come in or..?"
My hand drops from his cheek.
"You know you have to say something, Harry."
Anne finally walks toward us, facing Harry in an instant. "Harry, what happened? Your brother seemed okay? Come on, baby, please don't be like this to us."
Instinctively I retreat my hand from his and grab both of his cheeks to face me completely. Now that I have his attention my brown eyes looks straight to his pair of green orbs.
"Harry. Is he okay?" My voice firm.
"He's gone."
His answer was simple and it's enough to make me gasp involuntarily and froze from where I'm crouching in front of him. From the corner of my eye I see Anne let out a whispered scream and his husband embrace her instaneously but I'm not so sure what happens after; I completely tune out of the world. My vision start to gets blurry and all of the hospital's noises suddenly gone.
This is not happening, my mind says. This is just some kind of nightmares you used to experienced.
But I know from the moment my eyes meet Harry's once more, that what he said is real. All of this is real.
"I need to see him," I jump from where I'm crouching down but Harry catch my wrist quickly.
He looks up. "You can't see him. He's gone."
