When I awoke, it was already dark. I'm such a sleepyhead. I've been sleeping for at least seven hours. I took a shower and went to the kitchen. For some reason, I was craving for pasta. So I cooked a fetuccini. I gathered some cooking spices but intended to make it with a little seasoning. My pasta needs to be healthy. While watching some quiz shows on the television, I ate my pasta pleasantly.
I was cut off by the sound of knocking door. What now? I had bunch of visitors these day.
"Can I help y -" Before I finished my sentence, I froze in place.
The same guy who called me at 4 in the morning and at the lunch time, who went to my house when I was out with Nate, the same guy that I don't want to meet for like ever.
"Ave, yes, I need your help." said Harry.
"I didn't offer a help," I mustered a sentence even though we both know that I offered a help ten seconds ago. He was looking down all along, but I knew for sure it was him. He tuned up his fedora hat. Now I can see his whole face.
I startled. His nose was nonstop bleeding, his cheekbone were teared. Sadness were drawn in his swollen eyes. His lips were puffy, a bit of his lower lip were teared apart. His surrounding skin was filled with blue purple-ish colour. His condition were terrible.
I can't help but putting my hand on his cheek. "Oh my God, what happened?"
"I - uh - that's a very long story, Ave," his sound was hoarse. "Can - can you help me, please?"
I met his eyes for a moment. Knowing Harry, there's no word 'please' in his dictionary. I opened the door widely, leaving enough space for him to entered. He stood there patiently, waiting for me to locked the door first.
"Go to the couch," I demanded. He have been here before, so I don't have to lead him to the family room. I knew my herbal medicine will get him well in about two days. I was sure; I've done that several times.
I always be the one who loves nature - despite everyone who lives recklessly and carelessly to the environment. I used to be a leader in a global warming support organization when I was in junior high. But I quited because I can't socialize with people. However, I had hard times with convincing people to care about nature all by myself.
Enough talking about me. Right now, there's Harry, leaning on my couch. He groaned softly a few times. I flickered, he seemed to be in so much painful that he couldn't control himself.
It was a new face of him for me. I never saw him like this. He usually calm and just, he talks when he need to. He can be silent for a whole week. That's not a problem for him.
I silently did my medical treatment for him. His eyes locked on mine while I decided not to look at him. Even though I treated his wound, doesn't mean my hatred that I have towards him were vanished.
I finished in less than one hour. I passed him a glass of water. No one spoke. Neither I nor him are still closing our mouth. I sat across the couch. He finally broke the silence. "Thank you,"
I nodded awkwardly to him. He covered his face with his arm. I was used to this situation. Where he and I used to be silent and enjoy the surrounding voices of the night. But not this time.
"If you're done you can leave."
He cleared his throat. "I need you to stay. I want to tell you something."
I continued to my pace to upstairs. "There's nothing to tell, Harry,"
He shook his head intently. "No, you don't understand. Just listen."
I ignored him. I reached the doorknob to my room but I could feel his warm hand grabbed my wrist. He turned me around so now I was facing him. I tried to lose my hand on his - well, he's lot stronger than me.
