I nearly dead in my pace.

Not dead like passed away, but like stopped.

Slowly, I sat beside my mum. My mouth was half hanging open, and I have no idea why, but my entire body started to stiffen when she mentioned the name of ... Well. I can't tell you that part yet.

"Why did he get here?" I tried to find the whole information. My mom simply shrugged.

"Asking for sugar? I don't know. Don't ask me!" She answered. I rolled my eyes at this.

"No, I mean, did he gave some messages or something like that?"

Mom narrowed her eyes to me. "Why did you look like you've just seen a ghost?" She turned the volume on the television down. "Here's the story. I was baking, and then someone knocked the door. I opened it to reveal a tall guy, well yes he's attractive, but I don't like him! He was rude. He seemed to be in a hurry. Oh - and all he said were, 'Excuse me, I'm Harry and sorry, but is Avery home? I need to see her right now.' I replied, 'Whoa whoa calm the fuck down, big guy. She's not home.' He turned to be furious. 'Please don't lie to me,' then the next thing I knew, we started shouting at each other."

I silently listened to her long story. I muttered good night's to her and went straight to my room. I need sleep to sense properly right now. But I can't. Everytime I tried to close my eyes, memories of my past flooded in my head. Suddenly my phone rang. A cheeful voices flooded through the lines.

"Hey, grumpy! Guess what? I just prank Clara,"

I chuckled softly. "You're a kid,"

"What? I can't let myself saw a sleeping person and walked past them. I should give them a prank. It's natural,"

"Whatever makes you sleep at night, Alter,"

"So we're going back to phase one? Calling each other's last name? Aw," I easily recognized that he was pouting.

"Nate, it's -" I took a glance at the clock on the wall. "11 at night."

"Okay, I'll go, but are you okay?"

"Of course I am, why wouldn't I?"

"Alright, good night, grumpy,"

"Mm-hmm," was all I said before my eyes started to shut.

I blinked a few times. Mom has already turn on the lights on my room. It's the way how she wakes up. She's too lazy to go to my bed and patted my shoulder. Usually she just turn on the switch and leave but this time she sat at the edge of my bed.

"Morning, you're awake," she said.

"Uh-huh."

Remember that I'm not a morning person.

"Listen, Ave. I have some good and bad news," She declared, straighten up herself. I got up and laid my back on the head of the bed. "My boss."

I smiled faintly. She continued, "He promoted me. I got a higher position and I'll go to Washington for probably a month. That means I have to leave you here. My flight is in two hours. Do you think you're all right with that? I mean, I can refuse his offer if you didn't approve it."

"For seriously? Fuck, I don't have someone to tease everyday then,"

See? I just cursed. I hate mornings. Mom's gonna scold me after this. Thank God she understood that my brain's still hard to grasp some air in the morning.

She rolled his eyes. "Watch your mouth little girl. Now I dressed up like this to make me looks presentable. Do I put on too much efforts?"

Great, it took about ten minutes to realized she was wearing formal blouse and new pair of trousers. "You don't look too bad."
