Whoever said it was possible to forget your past must have been joking, because here she was, revisiting hers. Again.

She was raped in her fourteenth year by an unknown man, and owing to poor communication between her parents and her, she'd said nothing...they would not have known, if she had not gotten pregnant.

“You idiot! How dare you?” Her father had yelled at her right in front of the doctor, convinced she had willingly put herself in that situation.

She was Ghanaian, born into a family of four. Her father? Strict. Her mother? Indifferent. Her only sibling, an older brother ten years her senior, was far too old for baby talk.

Her only companion, her Nana, was the one part of her former life she’d never stopped missing.

Now, in Lagos, Nigeria, she was struggling to make ends meet with the help of a newfound friend.
