13 - Crawling In My Skin

Cole POV

"Cole Way?" A nurse at Doctor Altman's office asked aloud to the waiting room. Mikey and I stood up and followed her to an examination room. "Doctor Altman will be right in."

"Thank you." I said and the nurse walked out. I sat down on the examination table and waited. Doctor Altman walked in and smiled.

"Hello, Cole." She said. I smiled in return, too nervous to speak. "If you could please lie back on the table."

I lied back and slightly lifted my shirt. She squirted blue jelly on my stomach and pressed the transducer on it. An image popped up on the tiny screen. Doctor Altman looked at the screen and smiled. She pointed to a tiny blob on the screen. "That's your baby."

"How old is it?" I asked.

"You look about four weeks along."

"Okay." I said and looked at Mikey. He smiled at me.

"Would you like a picture?"

"Yeah, that would be great." I said. She printed out a picture and gave it to me. ''Thank you."

She wiped the jelly off my stomach. "I will see you back here in eight weeks." I nodded. Mikey and I left and drove home. We got home and walked up to our room. I taped the ultrasound picture to the wall.

"Cole, show me the bump." Mikey said. I lifted my shirt and he took a picture. I sat down next to him and looked at the picture. "I'm going to take one every week. I want to watch you guys grow."

"I love how excited you are about this." I said.

"Are you going to tell Cassie?"

''I'll call her later. I have to call Hayley, too."

"Hayley doesn't know yet?" Mikey asked.

"No. You, me, Cass, and probably Frank are the only ones that know."

"Call her right now."

"No." I said. "It can wait until tomorrow."

"Too late." Mikey said and took my phone out of my pocket. He found Hayley's number and called it.

"Michael!" I tried to take my phone back from him. I eventually gave up. He put the call on speaker phone.

"Hello?" Hayley asked from the other end.

"Hey. Listen, there's something I have to tell you."

"What?" She asked.

"I'm pregnant."

"Oh, my god! Congrats. I'm so sorry that I can't be there for you. I'll be back soon, okay." She said.

"Kay. Oh, by the way, Alex is still single and in love with you."

"What?!"

"Got to go, bye!" I said and hung up. "Happy, I called her."

"I would be even happier if you called my parents." He said.

"Mikey, they're your parents. You tell them."

"They are also your parents. Kind of."

"By law, Mikey. They're your parents by blood. They created you, and raised you for eighteen years; the least you can do is call them and tell them that we're having a baby." I said.

"I hate it when you're right."

"I know." I said, happily. He kissed me and called his parents.

"Well, they are very excited. I had to convince my mom not to fly out here and move in with us."

"I need you to get the band and Lyn-Z over here, I'll get All Time Low. They're our family, they need to know." I said. He nodded and got on the phone. I went in the hallway and called Alex.

"Hey, C. What's up?" Alex said, answering the call.

"I need you and the guys to come over here."

"When?"

"Now." I said.

"Okay." He said and I hung up.

Gerard, Lyn-Z, Frank, Cassie, Payton, Ray, Christa, Alex, Jack, Zack, and Rian were sitting in our living room. "Why are we here?" Jack asked.

"Because I'm pregnant." I said.

"Wait, what." Jack said.

"I'm having a baby. In eight months. There is going to be a very small person coming out of my-"

"Okay, I get it!" Jack said.

"Good."

Everyone congratulated Mikey and I, eventually leaving. I sat up in my bed, looking down at the small bump coming out of my stomach. "Hi, baby." I said. "I'm your mom. Um, I know you can't hear me because you don't have ears yet, but I just want you to know that I love you. I really do. I can't wait to meet you." I gently placed my hand on my stomach.

The realization finally set in. "I'm having a baby."
