Chapter 27: Time Heals All Wounds

Hajime POV

"I'm gonna miss here over the summer!" Seb sighed, clinging to a blushing Connor, "Hey we're going to Florida, it's gonna be fun." He cooed to his boyfriend. Seb was going with Connors family to Florida for a month over summer, Skylar was going to England to see his mother and Jason was staying in New York.

"When do you all get back?" Jason asked us. "I'm back from Japan three weeks before school starts again." I informed him as he took notes on his phone, "Same here with Florida. Connor said, "Three weeks from tomorrow for me." Skylar said.

"Great, I'll just have to hang out with Sam and Ella for the next month while my best friends ditch me." He said sarcastically and we laughed. "I actually need to pack so I will catch you guys later okay? I call you before I get on the flight." Skylar said and waved us goodbye. "BYE SKYLAR TELL YOUR MOM I SAID SHES LOOKING HOT!" Jason yelled and Skylar flipped him the finger. I laughed at the antics, "Don't you two need to pack? Your are leaving in the morning right?" I said to Connor and Seb who shrugged.

"Eh, Connor is all packed. I just need to throw in a few good books and I'm set." Seb shrugged. We sat in the park, talking about our holiday destinations.
"Won't it be strange going back? I mean to your old friends and stuff?" Jason asked me, although I knew by the look on his face he really meant my ex boyfriend, Souji.

"....I'm kinda nervous honestly. I'm really excited to see Chizuru and Heisuke but j haven't heard from Souji since I left. I don't know if he got back into school or made the martial arts world championships. Guess I'll find out when I get there." I shrugged.

"SHIT MOMS GONNA KILL ME WE HAVE TO GO BYE HAJIME BYE JASON!" Connor snatched Sebs hand and took off. "Uh....bye?" Jason and I laughed.

"So how are you really feeling about seeing this Souji guy." He asked me, pushing his swing a little. Sighing heavily I pushed my hair back, "I....am fucking terrified of I'm honest. Jason, this is sappy but whatever, I've only just stopped hurting from missing them so much. I don't even know if I should go back, I don't think it's a good idea for me. I don't think my heart can handle it again." Sliding down the pole I sat in the ground and Jason patted my shoulder.

"Think over it tonight. If you're still unsure I don't think you should, you were a mess when you first got here to be honest, but then you started laughing and joking slightly and day by day you were happier man." I looked up at him and chuckled. "You guys are my best friends." I said and he grinned. "Hell yeah we are! You know you can stay and spend the summer with me while your mother is away. You know my parents love you." He offered.

"Thanks Jase." I got up, brushing off my trousers and fixing my blue shirt. Soujis shirt....
"I need to think for a bit, I'll text you later." I said to him and he nodded. "No problem man, call me if ya need me." He patted my shoulder and headed home.

Should I really go back to Japan? I used to be so sure I would go back to them, I promised I would.....maybe I should go for a week instead and just see what's happening? No that's just stupid Hajime.

Shaking my head of thoughts, I bumped into someone who dropped a bag of files into the ground. "Oh my god, I'm sorry!" The brown haired boy gasped, quickly kneeling to pick them up. Crouching myself, I gathered them neatly into a like and handed them to him. He looked up and grinned at me, his dark brown eyes sparkling. "Thanks!"

"No problem at all, it was my fault anyway; I was in a daydream, sorry if anything is ruined." I apologised and bowed but tensed when I realised what I was doing. I looked up embarrassed and he smiled, "Japanese right?" He asked and I nodded, "Arigato sir!" He grinned and I chuckled. "Was it the accent?" I questioned and he nodded.

"It's cute though. Sorry but I gotta scram, gonna be late! Thank you stranger! Hope to see you again!" The chocolate eyed boy waved and ran down the street. He was cute, and so friendly too.

"Mother how long will you be in Japan for?" I asked her as she bustled about, grabbing last minute items. "A month and a half Hajime-Kun. Why are you not coming too?" She stopped suddenly, I could see a smile playing at the corner of her lips. "No I am. I'm going to see Chizuru, Heisuke and Souji." I glared. She tsked and I rolled my eyes, "What is your problem with him!" I yelled at her.

"He turned you into...this! You would have never spoken back to me! Or been so disrespectful of your parents wishes! And you were certainly never gay before you met him!" She jabbed and I laughed.

"I was always gay! Have ever once had a crush on a girl? Or even thought a girl was cute? No! You can't blame Souji for that!" I ranted, "He gave me confidence to stick up for myself! I'm not your little boy anymore I'm not the lost puppy wanting his mothers approval anymore, I don't care what you think." I lowered my voice back to a calm pitch. "I'm living my life for me now, not you or anyone else."

"The cheek." She slapped me round the face and I groaned. "Oh grow up, two years olds hit people when they don't get what they want." I snapped and grabbed my already packed bags heading back out to the car.

"You have an open ended ticket so you can leave whenever you feel like it." She said in a clipped tone. I nodded and put my head phones in as we headed to the airport. I sent the guys a quick text.

Away to Japan, open ended ticket so might b hom sooner than planned. Text u's wen I land - Haji

I smiled at the messages and picked a new song to listen too, the group chat continued to buzz until I left our wifi connection and I was disconnected.

Once reaching the airport, we checked through security, our tickets were checked and we were shown to our seats in business class. Great time for a 14 hours and 17 minutes long flight to Kyoto...

I hope this is worth it.
