47. Roundel — Indignation
I'll never be content till all these battle flags
From all these nations fall; till soldiers sent
To fight in distant lands come not in body bags,
I'll never be content.But I know well that every president
Will execute this endless war, and several mags
Of sabotaging rounds will quell dissent.For we now live within an age of bloody dog tags
T' identify the dead, who represent
Our dreams destroyed, turned into jokes by stupid wags: *

A/N: The roundel, invented by Algernon Charles Swinburne, is an English interpretation of the French rondeau consisting of 11 lines, with three half-lines of refrain repeated throughout, usually with consistent syllable count, but syllable count can vary depending on the poet's tastes.
