The 99 Poem Challenge
Fox-Trot-948. HexSonnetta — My Lady's Burning Eyes
My lady's burning eyes
Are nothing like the sun,
Making the fearful run
And sob their fearful cries;
She wears her hellish guise
Of death for all but one.Oh, how I wish to be
That one my lady views,
If even to abuse
Me with her spiteful glee;
Oh, keep your eyes on me
And, please, do not refuse:To love you is to suffer,
So let me be your lover.(To be continued...)
A/N: The HexSonnetta, invented by Andrea Dietrich, consists of two 6-line stanzas and a finishing rhyming couplet, somewhat reminiscent of the sonnet, with six syllables of iambic trimeter per line.
Meter: Iambic trimeter
Rhyme: abbaab cddccd ee
