Chapter 45 - Heaven Lead The Way

~ Love isn't about finding who you can live with; it's about finding who can't live without...

Jacob's POV

Shock. Utter shock.

Indescribable shock for everyone who had heard about the sudden death.

The funeral was going to be held five days later.

Miranda, Conner, Michael, I and most definitely Dan were going to attend it.

Dan. He had taken everything the hardest. The moment he had received the call, he had called Michael. I had been with Michael at the moment. When the news arrived, we all went to the hospital.

And now, Heaven was going to lead the way.

Angelina Meyer's POV

The throbbing ache that rose from my head pounded against my skull, making me want to scream out in pain. But my mouth wouldn't move, even as I tried to speak the words: Where am I?

With my eyes closed, everything was white now. It had absolutely blacked out a few moments ago, but now, all I saw was pure white, like a winter Wonderland full of just snow. But it couldn't have been snow; it was far too hot to be winter. I was burning up.

Wake up, a silk soft voice whispered in my mind, carrying out and swirling the words around my mind like a gust of wind playing with leaves on the ground.

"God, it's been an entire day."

The same voice from the girl who played on the show, Semi-High, I realized, trying once more to soundlessly move my lips.

"It'll take time. She'll be up soon."

The voice of the boy I'd seen in the lobby, with caramel colored hair. I couldn't recall him name.

"Where is the doctor?"

The familiar worried voice I had once feared talking to; the boy whose words sounded like the sound of a violin from the music store, soft and sweet.

"I don't know."

The arrogant voice I'd always despised.

"Where is Dan?"

Dan. My body went numb as I pictured the dark haired boy. The boy who had held me, cared about me, had -

"I'm here." The muffled sound of the angelic voice made my eyes flutter open, with difficulty, and the image of a gray ceiling appeared in my vision. I stared at it, unsure of which way to dart my eyes. I was suddenly aware of how warm my body felt and how painful the simplest movement was.

"Oh my God!" The same annoying chirp of the female's voice suddenly screamed, making me wince. "Oh my God, her eyes are open! Dan, Michael, Conner, Jacob, she opened her eyes!"

Suddenly, four heads popped into my vision, replacing the dull ceiling and I looked into each pair of wide eyes.

"Holy shit," the caramel colored muttered, shock and relief etched across his face. "Tell me she's really alive."
