A New Beginning

Discovery

"Her name is Katrina" Tyler said staring at her, "Oh, well nice to meet you," I held my hand out waiting for a response. Then she looked around and asked "What happened, and where am I?" Oh yea she just woke up after what happened just a few minutes ago "Oh sorry, you passed out after letting out all that power at the apartment building downtown."

She stared off into space with a puzzled face as if she has no idea I'm talking about. "What are you talking about?" I was right "You don't remember what you did back there?"

"What do you mean, what did I do?" she looked at the pillow her head was resting on and screamed, it was on fire. "WHY IS THE PILLOW ON FIRE?!" out of panic she shot a ball of fire right into the fire place. She stood still and stared at her hands after what she just saw. "What am I?" she had a horrifying expression on her face.

I put out the pillow by freezing it, she looked at me backing away, "Don't worry Katrina it's just my powers, you have them too, and I guess it's fire." She looks back at her hands and tries to use them again. "How do I do that?"

"We can teach you" She looked at us like we were crazy and a bit confused at the time, but she seemed to be handling the situation better than anyone else who has discovered us. "Why aren't you freaking out that people with powers and monsters exist,"

"I freaking love supernatural and powers, I'm like a super geek who watches anime and reads comics when ever I can, this is heaven." I looked at Tyler and he shrugged his shoulders. I looked at Katrina and said "Well I guess I was excited too when I first discovered mine."

I went upstairs while Tyler was talking to Katrina so I could go get Mr.Judo to help her out with her powers. "Mr.Judo can you help with-" he walked passed me and started heading downstairs. He looked at me and said "I heard, I'll help her control them"

We went out side and I explained our history on how we have powers and how we were from another planet. She was practicing how to control her powers and then realized, "Tracy! She's still at home." I looked at her and said "Who?"

"Tracy, she's my little sister, she's still at home, she was sick and was freezing cold so I went out to get medicine but then I started getting hot." Me and Tyler were both looking at each other and I bet we were thinking the same thing, She's probably already got her powers.

We both both rushed to her house and we landed on the front porch, Tyler looked behind him where his house was across the street. He walked up the the house and there was a shrine in front with photos of his family, he looked at me and pointed at his sister's picture "Her name was Maria, she was only 10 years old."

"She kinda looks like you." 

"Yea, mom used to always say we were like twins." I put my hand on his shoulder and said, "C'mon lets go. He nodded his head and wiped the tears off his face, we walked up to the door and tried to open it. "Hey Alex feel this," I grabbed the door knob and it was frozen and didn't budge.

"Stand back Tyler," I broke the door knob,off and we went inside when a gust of freezing cold air gave us chills. "It's like a snowy mountain in here" Tyler said shivering. I looked around and said, "The more reason to hurry up and find her." We looked all around he house and everything was frozen solid, I went into the living room and saw, some pictures of only Katrina and Tracy.

Where are their parents?  Tyler came into the living room, "I found her," we went into what looked like to be Tracy's room. Tracy was sitting in a corner starring at us, "Who are you?" She asked I didn't want her to be scared so I showed my wings and her eyes were wide open.

I looked at her and I said "Were like you," Tyler looked at me and said, "A bit cliche much," I shrugged my shoulders and said, "Hey I have always wanted to say it, and plus,you gotta admit it was cool how I showed my wings and said it."

He nodded his head and laughed, I looked at the girl and she didn't even look cold, "Are you not cold?" I asked. She shook her head and said, "No, I like the cold it's nice." I looked at her and picked her up and said, "C'mon your sister is waiting for you at our place." A big smile appeared on her face and then we walked outside, then she asked "Where is it, and how do we get there?"

I looked at her and said "You've seen my wings right," She looked straight up and realized what I meant and said, "Oh no" I jumped up really high to give myself a launch and flew straight up. You could hear her screaming with her eyes closed shut, She's scared I thought of something and went up and out the clouds.

It was quiet and you could see the sun setting over the horizon, I looked at her and said "You can open your eyes now" she looked ahead and was completely speechless. I asked her "So what's your name?" She looked at me and said "I'm Tracy, and I'm 14" I started heading down to the safe house, "Nice to meet you I'm Alex"

I looked at Tyler and I was actually surprised that he wasn't using electricity to fly, "Whoa Tyler how are you flying?"

"I learned hoe to control kinetic energy, so now I can just fly with ease and it's not as noticeable as electricity making loud noises constantly."

We landed and you can see Katrina running towards us, "Tracy!" she yelled. Both Katrina and Tracy hugged and Katrina took Tracy inside. Janice walked up to us and said, "So how was the little trip"

Tyler said, "Cold" then walked into the house, me and Janice laughed and we both started slowly walking to the house. Then I said to her "Tracy has some power that causes things to freeze"

"So she's an Ordinary like Katrina" and if you don't know there are three types of people with abilities. There is Ordinary, Elite and Legendary, I would explain but that's in one of the first chapters. Anyway Janice looked and me and said "Well what happened"

"The entire house was frozen on the inside,"

"Did you fix it?"

"It will thaw out so it will be back to normal in a few days."

"Good point" She stopped and looked at me and said, "What do we do now, Daemontrias hasn't been doing anything lately?" I looked up at the sky that by now was getting dark and said "I really don't know, what do you think?" She shrugged her shoulders and we went inside.
