A New Beginning

Why?

We went up stairs and brought the shackles with us to get a closer look at them, about an hour of looking all around the house and the forest we couldn't find a thing. We returned to the kitchen and placed the shackles on the table and we started to see if we could find out how they look like it exploded but is not hot.

"What do you think Janice?" I looked at her holding the shackles, "Maybe someone ripped them open with super strength or something." I shook my head side to side, "No, if it did it would have been completely crushed from the persons hands." We kept suggesting ideas until we got to a solution.

"What about kinetic energy manipulation?" Janice looked at me sure of herself that she was right. I nodded my head, "Yea, that actually fits in perfectly," I raised up my hand and I gave her a high five. "Now all that's left is who got Luke out?" I said. Stephanie walked in and gave Janice a hug, "Hey, what was the ruckus about?"

I looked at her and said, "You're a little late, like over an hour late." She looked at me with a nervous expression and said, "So Janice how about you fill me in? I was asleep." Janice stood up and handed me the shackles and took Stephanie to the cell.

Charlie came in looking like a mess, "Whoa what's wrong Charlie?" He looked at me and said, "I feel really bad about bringing Luke here, I thought.. I didn't-" I patted his back. "It's okay, you wanted to help, meant well."

He smiled a bit and said "Thank you, I'm just wondering how he got out, I mean I was out side fixing up some wholes on the roof from all the training but sensed no one come to the safe house." I looked at him surprised, "Wait what?"

He looked at me and explained, "I can sense anyone's energy and I only felt those who were here at the house the entire time, and even if the person masked it somehow to sneak in I would have noticed the second they used their powers to free Luke."

I stood up quickly and looked at Charlie and said, "You know what this means!" Charlie looked at me startled, "What?"

"This means that Luke escaped with someone's help who was already here." Charlie's eyes opened wide open and said, "So that means someone here is on Daemontrias' side." I nodded agreeing with him, "Charlie I want you to tell me where everyone was the entire day."

"O-okay..." After about a good 7 minutes I went to find Janice and explain, so lets just skip the boring part of me explaining to Janice about the whole Charlie sensing people. In Janice's room she was looking out the window, "So what's your point?"

"Well the only people closest to Luke's cell were Stephanie and Jak." Janice turned around and looked at me and said, "So you think Jak did it?" I shook my head, "No he doesn't have a kinetic power."

"And Stephanie doesn't have powers at all!" She was getting angry since I just implied that her friend just got the guy who tried to kill her out of the cell. I tried to calm her down, "Janice didn't you hear me, Charlie can sense people with powers... he sensed Stephanie when he heard the explosion. Plus didn't she say she was asleep?"

Janice eyes were wide open, "Then why didn't he say anything?" I started walking to the balcony and said, "Because he thought he was imagining it." She calmed down, "So your saying that my friend betrayed me."

"I-" right before I spoke I heard someone at the other side of the door, I walked towards it and heard someone walking away quickly. I opened the door and looked at both sides of the hallway and no one was there. "Hmm, I thought I heard someone." I said as I was closing the door.

Janice grabed my shoulder and said, "I don't believe you..." I looked at her and said, "C'mon Janice wh-"

"Please leave..." I looked at her and she was pretty angry, almost pissed. "O-okay," I stepped out the room and turned around towards her, "Look Janice just-" she closed the door on me and I could hear her turn on the T.V.
