A New Beginning

Hey I need your help with a friend of mine

"Tyler this will be your room from now on." I told him as he walked into the room with a bed for two with blue and white blanket and a small shelf with a lamp on top with the room having dark blue light blue walls and a white ceiling. "*Whistle* This is a nice room, where's your room?" I pointed to mine which was right across the hall.

"I sleep here and my sister it right next to mine, with Mr.Cane at the end of the hall and Kat is right next to Janice in the middle of the hall with Jak right across from her, and in between you and Jak is the restroom and Charlie is next to the kitchen downstairs." I took a deep breath from all that, my room it in the beginning of the hall with Jason right next to the stairs. He looked around and said "Wow, that is a lot of people living here."

"Oh and Tyler, you might want to change clothes." He had ripped shorts an old dirty grey sweater and shoes that looked like it sat with moths for hours with several holes curly hair and blue eyes. "Hey, I have some extra clothes that I really don't wear, you can have them." He looked at me smiling "R-really, thanks."

"Now go get ready and put something on, I have a friend coming to see what you got." I went downstairs and Janice was there in the kitchen sitting down spaced out. I walked over and sat down next to her. "Hey, you seem like your worried about something." She looked at me, "Hey why did Tyler join so easily?"

I looked at my hands that were on the table, "By the looks of it Daemontrias is going after more than just you and me, I don't even think Tyler even has a family- probably Daemontrias did something."

"Yea"

"Well I gotta go and make a call."

"Alright Alex"

I walked outside and got out my phone and called my friend. *Phone ringing* "C'mon pick up" "Hello?"
"Hey It's Alex."
"Alex, hey haven't heard from you in a while, what's up?"
"I have a new member to the team, his name is Jason, by the looks of it he can use electricity but I think his power is something more."
"Sure I'll take a look I'll be there tommorow."
"Cool thanks I will see you then."

I walked to the backyard and decided to play around a bit with my powers, I closed my eyes and imagined a small plant quickly grow into a tree, then I could hear the sound of leaves moving around. I opened my eyes and I could see the small stem in front of me start growing at an amazing speed. The more leaves that popped up the taller it became, slowly you could see the green stems turn brown and harden into wood.

The stem became bark and it grew up to almost thirteen feet tall but it stopped at twelve I backed up to see it all and it actually looked real nice. "Whoa, did you do that?" Tyler was behind me watching and he looked like a kid going to zoo for the first time. "Yea, my powers depend on my feelings which is called empathy" He walked up to the tree and just gazed at it. "Oh, Alex wait here" he ran into the house and came back with something of his.

It was a steel plate with like ten coils in a circle on the edges with a little metal handle in the center. "Tyler what the heck is this?"

"It's my... well just watch"

He put on his earphones and held the handle on the steel plate. He put play on his music and closed his eyes. The coils started making sound as electricity shot out of the center creating music which he was hearing. It was awesome and the music sounded so cool, he took off his earphones and picked up the steel plate. "I usually do this when I'm bored and I barely perfected it like a month ago."

"That is really cool, oh it's getting dark out, it gets really cold out at night so we should go inside." we walked inside and the fresh air outside was nice, but once I opened the door a wave of warmth and the smell of food gave me warm chills just from walking in. "What's for dinner Mr.Cane." Jak, Kat and Mr.Cane were in the kitchen making dinner.

Mr.Cane looked at us drying his hands, "Today we are having barbecue ribs, mashed potato, corn, and some veggies on the side." My mouth was making a waterfall just thinking about it. During dinner Tyler was looking at everyone and seemed sad. He finished his food and left to his room. After dinner was over I went into his room and he was next to his desk that he put next to the window so he could have a nice view.

"Tyler you alright?" he was just starring at the tree I grew outside. "Hey Alex have you ever lost something really dear to you... a loved one?" he glanced at me waiting for an answer. I walked up to him and starred out the window with him, "I never met my parents..." he looked at me surprised. "Sorry I asked"

"No worries and you?"

"Well... the reason I joined your team was because Daemontrias killed my family in front of me about a year ago"

"Oh"

"Yea, I was walking home from school and when I went in the house he was there waiting for me, and the last thing my mom said to me was 'Run' right before Daemontrias killed her" as he kept talking the more mad he got. I looked at him starring into the mountains and his pupil in the middle of his eye started getting bigger making his entire eye black and the bigger it got the faster and louder he got, "After my mom was my sister then he killed my father, and he starred at me the entire time with just a big grin on his face, so the next time I see him I'm gonna-"
"TYLER" he snapped out of it and he looked at me and I could see his eye returning to normal.

"Sorry Alex, I'm just tired" I walked to the door looking back at him "Get some sleep a friend of mine is coming to help you with your powers, goodnight"
"Night Alex"

I closed the door behind me and I find Janice in the hallway next to her door. "So I guess you heard"
"Yea I came up right after you, and by the looks of it he has a worse back story that all of us"
"Yea but now he's our family" I walked into my room and said goodnight to everyone.

As I was laying down in bed I was thinking What was with his eyes, he was mad but I'm guessing his power has something a little... extra.
