I'm so excited for where this book is going and I amnt even fully sure myself haha
**************************
Two weeks, five days, six hours and forty three minutes.
That's how long it has been since we had come back to the compound and in that time I haven't seen Cut once, not that I was counting.
The first few days with Fiachra being here were the hardest. I could feeling the stares I was getting from everyone, the questions they wanted answered floated heavy in the air. The first time I found myself alone with Switch was probably the scariest time in those few days as I knew from the look on his face that I could find myself on the streets alone very quickly.
"He doesn't know." It wasn't a question but I answered anyways.
"No." My voice held firm indicating I would handle his opinion on the matter if he felt the need to voice it. His eyes narrowed into thin slits before he spoke again in a controlled voice.
"When he's back I'll let him decide, all I need is one word from him" I nodded because my throat was suddenly closed. I understood the underlying point Switch was making, I was welcome until Cut said otherwise.
In the two days that followed that conversation I kept me and Fiachra to myself making minimal conversation with everyone and very rarely leaving our room. That was until suddenly their attitudes to me started to thaw.
I had walked into the kitchen after waking to Fiachras bed being empty. There in front of me sat five biker badasses, and a seven year old locked in an intense game of chess.
I froze entirely within the doorframe as Pin reached forward and slowly moved a white chess piece. The room fell into a tense silence as my boy stared at the board.
Slowly his little face rose to look each of them in the eye giving nothing away. However I knew my boy so his face caused me to smile. He broke into a smug grin as he mumbled,"dude" at a group of huge muscled, scary as all hell bikers and reached forward to slide a piece across the board.
"Checkmate" he grinned his wonky little grin at them as he sat back in his chair. Laughter spilled through the room.
"My man!"
"Atta boy, he killed you"
"Sh- I mean darn how?" Pin was the last to whine out before my laughter became vocal and they all turned to look at me smiling.
"Hey momma" that beautiful smile would stop my heart if it wasn't what kept it going. I walked over to him and ruffled his hair before planting a kiss on his head.
"Beating bikers sweetie?" I smiled down at him. He shrugged back.
"They thought they could beat me because I'm younger" he giggled. I knew my boy was a genius. It became clear at a young age, there was always something about the way he regarded things and the way he dealt with stuff.
From that moment on everyone seemed to relax. Slowly everyone got to know us, Fiachra for the first time and for some it was a catch up with me. Every so often I would hear them discussing my boy and the activities he had done with them that day. I watched for two weeks as this club started to fall in love with my son.
Now here I was, three in the morning and making my way towards the kitchen in the compound. I had been working steadily in the club's bar and tonight was one of my later shifts. Feeling the tiredness in me I walked into the kitchen to grab a bite to eat before bed. A few people sat on couches in the corner and I waved over without looking.
"Hey I'm making pasta anyone want some?" I asked.
"No love I'm good thanks. Fiachras out like a light. how was work?" That was Pin. We had ground close in the weeks, Fiachra took a liking to him ever since the chess match, but then again Fiachra took a liking to all of them.
I nodded my head while digging through the shelves.
"Good thank you honey. It was long. Nothing like being groped all night" I joked while thinking about that nights shift at the bar. "Don't worry though James dealt with it". James was the bartender in the bar. At forty six he was built like a fighter and not to be messed with.
"Who touched you?" I froze from stirring the pasta to turn and look at the group in the corner.
Holy shit.
There he was, a beard covered his face from where he hadn't shaved in the weeks away. He wore his cut and a pair of jeans and biker boots. He was leaning back relaxed in the chair and was balancing a beer on his knee. His focus was entirely on me. I felt, actually felt my knickers get wet from just the sight of him.
"Cut it was nothing don't worry" I tried to shrug it off but he was having none of it. Dropping his foot to the ground he leaned forward to rest his elbows on his knees. I moved to strain the pasta and put it in a bowl.
"Who..touched..you?" Slower, firmer and a hell of a lot sexier he repeated those words with an edge to his voice that told me I wanted to answer him and now.
"Dean" I whispered.
"Dean who darling?" Pin asked me and I watched in confusion as Cut shot him an angered look.
"I don't know he always sits in that corner near the girls toilet" I said uneasily. I watched as Cuts jaw clenched tight. He knew who I was talking about.
"Go get some sleep darling and we'll see you in the morning. He won't bother you again" Pin said to me and with a nod and a goodnight I went to leave the room. I wasn't far enough down the hall to miss Cuts angry voice ask Pin.
"Why the fuck are you calling her darling? " I didn't hear Pins reply and I didn't stick around to see what else was said. Instead I went to my room, ate my food and kissed my boy goodnight.
However sleep avoided me because two single questions circled my head for the night.
Number one being why Cut cared what Pin called me and number two being how the fuck was I going to explain Fiachra to him.
All I knew was that tomorrow could be the day me and Fiachra go on another 'adventure' that meant I'd never see these people again.
