Millie p.o.v.
A knock on the door turned all our heads away from Aine. Switch, Tara, Buck, Layla, Pin and myself were all packed into the little hospital  room. A nurse entered and smiled softly.
"How is she today?" Her voice was like a feather, soft and weightless.  She wore a name tag that said Gillian.
"Good. Getting her colour back" Switch answered.
"She is indeed, a lovely colour too. Was she on holidays? I could do with a tan like that" the nurse joked.
"Born with it" I answered looking back at Aine.
"Damn lucky she is" the nurse said before focusing on me.
"Would you all mind if  I chat to her sister for a second? If you just wait outside" she asked. Tension filled the room.
"Sister?" Tara whispered.
"Yeah course,  guys if you'll wait outside" I answered the nurse before turning to the others. Slowly they all filed out of the room.
"How is she? Truly?" I asked.
"Honestly, she's way better. No further swelling has taken place and it seems to be slowly improving. Unfortunately she will have some scarring from the...wounds that were inflicted but other than that she's on her way to a full recovery physically" she smiled gently once again.
"And mentally?" I asked the question we all feared. She shrugged remorseful.
"I'm sorry, only time will tell. But right now all is looking good"
"That's good. Thanks, Gillian" I smiled softly.
"Anytime"  she returned in kind. " I'm just going to check over her if you dont mind giving me a few minutes?"
"Course,  work away" I exited the room to find everyone packed into the corridor outside.
" What did she say?"Layla asked.
"All is looking okay so far" I said.
"Any news on her waking up?" Buck spoke.
"Don't know yet, time will tell" I shrugged.
"Explain the whole sister thing" Switch spoke up.
"I mean, legally we're sisters. Long story short, my parents took Aine in a long time ago and not too long after it, papers were signed and she was my sister" I shrugged it off as nothing.
"How did we never know this?" He pressed.
"Didn't seem that big a deal" I said off handedly.
"Seems to be a lot of stuff we don't know about you two" he replied, a sudden edge to his tone, one I didn't appreciate. Silence took over the hall before Pin broke it.
"Mill, I'll give you a lift home yeah?"
Breaking my stare down with Switch i looked to Pin and smiled.
" Please." Looking at the rest I asked them to say goodbye for me to Aine when the nurse was finished.
"Of course we will Millie, get home safe" Tara responded.

"Where are we going?"  I asked as we drove through town and kept going.
"Road trip" he smirked over at me. "Relax, just going for a drive, clear your head" Pin looked back out at the road and I relaxed back into my seat.
"Tell me about Fiachras birth" he spoke into the silence.
"Really? You want the gross details?" I scrunched my nose up in disgust and he laughed.
"No, more just want to know what he was like as a baby"
"Honestly?" I asked and he nodded his head.
"He was beautiful. He came out so quiet it scared me, thought something was wrong,  a new born that quiet" I shook my head as I thought back on it. "Honest to god, I followed the midwives every move, scared stiff" he looked over at me and grinned.
"Then he looked at me" I said softly and he looked away again back to the road. I did the same.
"His eyes were what took me. They were all I could see, way to young to have his eyes open like that and yet there he was, eyes wide open. I was stuck from that moment on, I knew, no way could I ever not love this baby, everyday his eyes captivated me more and- Pin where are we?" I snapped out of memory lane and glanced at the house we had pulled up in front of.
It was an old witches house. A dainty two story building that had a presence of history. The lawn was unkept and paint had chipped away from the walls to settle among the weeds below. It's windows were big and sturdy like the brown door that stood tall in the centre. All its windows were symmetrical, not a single tile on the roof was out of place. Trees loomed high around the house enclosing it into its own space, blocking out the rest of the world.  It was mysterious and beautiful.
"You need to go inside, Millie" Pins voice interrupted my gawking. I whirled to look at him.
"Go inside? Are you nuts? I don't know who lives there!" I exclaimed.
"Cuts in there, he's waiting for you" he kept eye contact with me as I jerked back in shock.
"What why?" The words tumbled from my mouth.
"That you'll have to ask him. But sweetheart I think you already know and how I know that is because I just asked you about the most important person in your life and you told me the first thing you fell in love with in your boy was his eyes. Eyes his father gave him. To me, that says it all" His voice was gentle, as if he had put a lot of thought into what he was planning to say.
"We could have worked, I have no doubt about you Millie, you're an incredible woman and your boy is a blessing. But no point falling for a woman who isn't available to fall for. You deserve to be happy and as much as it sucks to say this, the kind of happy I could have given you wouldn't have been enough. You could have been happy for years never knowing why you felt like something was missing,  but you would have known something was missing and sooner or later you would have gone searching for it. What you would have found Millie, is what is waiting for you on the other side of that door so you need to get out of the car and go inside" although his voice was still gentle, it was firm and non yielding.
" I don't think-"
"Trust me Mil. Get out" Pin said no more and feeling helpless I slowly exited the car. Watching in disbelief as Pin gave a short wave before driving back down the curved driveway I wondered what the hell was happening.
His words shot through my head, trust me.
The fact that Pin wasn't someone that would leave me in a situation that would end up hurting me was the only reassurance I could give myself as I turned to face the witches house that loomed over me.
The weeds seemed to reach out for my feet as I slowly made my way up to the door, whether they were trying to stop me, I wasn't sure but I felt their tug at my ankles nonetheless. The door stretched higher and higher towards the sky as I came to a stop in front of it.
They say when one door closes another one opens and that's what this felt like. That the minute Pins car door closed, this one had a possibility of opening. Only worry was I wasn't completely sure I would like what awaited me on the other side but either way I had no choice but to push forward.
Reaching out I grabbed the handle and on a deep breath I pushed open the door to the witches lair.
