Chapter Twenty Four

I woke up and Joe was gone. I flopped on my back and looked up. Maybe I should call Taylor? I got up and reached for the phone. No! I'm not going to do this to myself. I sat up and rubbed my eyes. I got up and went to the coffee maker. There was a note on the fridge. 

"Hey Tay-

I'll be gone till 7. I love you-Joe." I ripped the note down and threw it away. I poured myself coffee and got a pop tart. I sat on the couch and turned on the T.V. I watched "Good Morning America" they were interviewing some guy from a new movie. I finished my breakfast and washed the dishes. I walked to the calendar and checked the date. December 10th. Jeez. where has the months gone? I sighed. I got dressed and went online and was goofing around when the doorbell rang. I got up and answered it. Selena was at the door. She smiled.

"What do you want?" I asked.

"I think we need to talk." She said.

"Why would I wanna talk to you?" I said mad.

"Because I drove a long time to see you and I have cookie's!" She said raising a bag. I smiled.

"Alright come in." I said opening the door wider. She came in and dumped the bag of cookies on the coffee table. I smiled as I grabbed a box of chocolate chip. I ate one.

"So we need to talk." She said awkwardly. I swallowed the cookie.

"I know." I said and took another bite.

"Look I'm sorry for trying to get Taylor." She said looking at me.

"Look I shouldn't have gotten mad. I'm happily married." I said and set the bag down.

"Your "Happily" married?" She air quoted. I froze. I did say happily didn't I.

"Uhhhh. No." I confessed.

"Taylor I'm on your side. Your my best friend. I want you to be with him." She said getting up. She walked over to the fridge and grabbed a coke.

"Why did you say you wanted to marry him?" I asked. She closed the fridge and came and sat back down. 

"Taylor I have known Taylor since we were eight. And I liked him ever since. I thought he was going to be the one. So I told you that." She sighed.

"Wait. If you knew he was going to be the one, why did you set us up?" I asked leaning back.

"Well I just was trying to make you feel better about you and Joe's break up so I invited you but I never thought you guys would end up together." She confessed.

"But you ditched us on purpose." I said grabbing a cookie and popping it in my mouth.

"I know. I wanted you guys to hang out. like I said I never thought you guys would end up together." She said. I smiled.

"I'm sorry." I said. 

"Taylor you don't need to apologize. I came here to apologize to you. I won't go after Taylor." She smiled. I was at a loss for words. I hugged her.

"Thank you Sel." I said while hugging her.

"Your welcome." She said and released me. We hung out the rest of the day. It was getting late. 

"I should go." She said looking at her watch. It was 4:00. She needed to drive another two and a half hours to get home.

"Alright. Well thanks for apologizing. I really appreciate it." I smiled.

"No problem. Well I'll see you soon." She smiled. I nodded.

"Hopefully with a fiance!" She laughed. I sighed happily.

"You'll find him Selena." I said hugging her.

"I hope so." She said and went for the door. 

"And Taylor?" She said in the doorway. I looked at her.

"He loves you. Taylor really loves you" She smiled, her eyes twinkling. I smiled.

"I know." I smiled. with that she left. I waved goodbye and sat on the couch. I'm glad that were friends again. I still have a problem on my hands though. Where is Taylor?
