Chpater 17- Quest time! New arrival(meaning the pet)

I closed my computer once I finished the whole adoption process. I grabbed my bag and headed towards the campfire where everyone was.

"Hey guys!" I said to everyone sitting on a log beside Lucy and Snow. A few of them nodded a few of them waved and a few of them said 'hello'

"Ok everyone ready to go on the quest?" Inez said raising and eyebrow and sitting on a log in between Percy and Annabeth. Everyone nodded their head including me.

"Maisy, its a bit dangerous out there so I prefer if you stay at camp."  Inez says holding a straight face.

"But-"

"No buts your not going and...."she trails off looking at the campers.

"Lucy! Will be keeping you company" Inez says looking at Lucy. Lucy smiles and high fives me!

Well this is going to be interesting.

After the campers left I looked at my laptop and figured out when the pet will be getting here.

I close my laptop when Lucy walks in. She waves at me and plops down on her bed reading some book.

"Campers just left, So....were stuck here for at least another three hours. Wanna go pranking some humans?" Lucy says grinning. "I thought it was dangerous out there?" I ask her.

"Once your inside the border its fine, we just have to be an inch out of the border to prank them. Its funny thought because they can't see us" she says laughing. I raise an eyebrow at her.

"We hide up in the trees dumbass" Lucy says looking at me. "Thanks for letting me know smartass" I say grinning. We both sit there and laugh our heads off.

"So you ready to go?" asks Lucy opening her trunk. I nod and she grabs a bucket at a small backpack. I put my laptop in its case and zip up the zipper I grab my bag and slip on my combat boots.

"Alright lets gooo!!!" she says running out of camp.

When we reach the border we are both out of breath and panting like crazy. "So...now what are...we supposed...to do" I say panting.

"Pick up pine cones and put them in the bucket" she says putting her hands on her knees. 

I nod and pick up a few pine cones and throw them in the bucket. Lucy does the same.

Once we filled up the bucket lucy grabbed some rope out of her bad and threw it over the nearest tree. She tied one half to the bucket and kept the other half free. She hoisted the bucket up the tree pulling on the opposite side of the rope.

Once the bucket rest on a branch of the tree, Lucy begins climbing, like a spider monkey I might add. I start climbing the tree slowly and I give up pretty soon. I fall from the tree and land on the ground with a grunt and a groan.

"Come on!" Lucy shouts from the tree. I get up and climb the tree again. "SUCESS!" I shout from the tree branch. Lucy rolls her eyes and jumps from one sturdy branch to another sturdy branch on another whole diffrent tree. I throw her the bucket and prepare to jump.

I close my eyes and jump. I land on something hard and I suppose its the branch. I look down and i'm standing on the tree! I smile at my sucess. Alright, Lucy says sitting on the branch in between the middle of us. Lucy pulls out two bull horns from her bag and hands one to me.

She throws a pine cone at the boys head and he rips away from the girl. He glares around and the girl looks at him confused. I cover my mouth holding in a laugh.

Lucy grabs the bull horn and turn it on.

"Hey, you down there!" the girl looks around. "Nah not you the boy!" Lucy says through the bull horn. The boy looks around glaring. "You listening pretty boy?" Lucy says through the bull horn. He slowly nods still looking around.

"You. Suck. At. Kissing. Got it?" Lucy says. The boy rolls his eyes and looks around. "Right Stella?" Lucy says and hands me her bull horn. I give her a questioning look and she motions for me to go with it.

"That's right Mary, he does suck at kissing" I handed the bull horn back to Lucy as the couple runs away. I bust out laughing as soon as they are outta sight.

"How come they couldn't see us?" I ask Lucy as she packs up the bull horns and pours the bucket of pine cones on the ground.

"Your a human and you hear voices around you. Your not gonna look up your gonna look around you and besides even if they did look up they couldn't see us we sorta blend in and were really high up" Lucy says looking down. I look down and realize how far up we are.

gulp.

Lucy hands me rope and she ties a part to the branch and slides down the tree to land safely on the ground. I do the same routine, but I get rope burn on my hands half way through. I end up falling and landing on the pile of pine cones.

"Ow!" I shout once my back hit the pine cones. I mumble a few curse words as Lucy mutters 'that's gotta hurt' We trudge back to camp while my back feels like its on fire.

"Hey, Luce are pets aloud here?" I ask checking my watch. Only 20 more minutes until my pet arrives.

"Not really the leaders hate them. But I would love to have one" Lucy says plopping on her bed. "Shit." I mumble. Lucy looks at me questionably and I cave in.

"I ordered a 6 week old puppy" I say. "And.. its gonna be here in like 20" I say sheepishly. Lucy smiles widely. "What the leaders don't know won't hurt them" I look at her and she shrugs her shoulders. "Well let's go set up for its arrival!" I say.
