I woke up from my nap, feeling like crap. Sitting up and rubbing my eyes, what happened earlier this morning was still tattooed to my mind. It felt like every piece of my heart was breaking watching Shinyoung die before my eyes, but I had to stay strong for Minri and Hyuna. This isn’t the first time someone has died in front of my eyes, but back then, it didn’t hurt this bad. I wasn’t close to that person, but it still hurt—just a bit.
Flinging my legs off my bed, there was commotion down stairs. Before I could even exit my room, I glanced at myself in the mirror. My eyes were swollen and my cheeks were tear-stained. Plus, my make up ran down my face so I looked like a raccoon. Sighing, I grabbed a pair of my athletic shorts and a tank top, went into my bathroom, changed, washed my face, and headed on downstairs.
I stood on the top step and paused for a quick second. I heard them singing or whatever, but it sounded really well. My lips crept to a small smile, but it quickly fell when whoever was singing stopped. Someone else stepped in, but Chanyeol’s voice cut him off. Curiosity hit me and I headed on downstairs. In the living room, they were all sitting on the sofa and floor with Chanyeol in the middle. He was wearing specs and holding a guitar. The floor creaked when I stepped on the floor and Chanyeol raised his eyes to meet mine. He smiled and I waved, and then headed their way. Sehun, Luhan, Kyungsoo, and Yixing all waved at me so I quickly returned it before I could lean against the back of the sofa to watch them.
“What are you guys doing?” I asked and was surprised how raspy my voice was. I cleared my throat and waited for their reply.
“We’re making a song for our collaboration project.” Junmyun answered me cheerfully with a smile.
“We have the lyrics, but it’s hard deciding parts and the octaves and such. Stuff like that.” Chanyeol frowned at me, “It’s hard when we don’t have a professional.
The funny thing is, I’m professional at this. I won’t admit it, because it must be kept secret, but I decided to help, “Let me help.”
Chanyeol raised an eyebrow, “Uh, what?”
I stared at him dead in the eye, “Do you not trust me? You guys barely know me. You don’t know what I’m capable of.”
“I’ve never heard her talk like that before.” Luhan whistled and ran a hand through his hair. He smiled at me and nodded, “Let’s try. It’s worth a shot.”
This could really help get my mind off what happened and prepare for tomorrow.
I had all of them sing for me and mentally, I prepared a tune. Reading their lyrics, it was about a wolf and a beauty. Chanyeol explained that they were inspired by the Twilight series, and that made me laugh but I went along with it. So far, the two who can really hit a high note is Baekhyun and Jongdae, although they had a little trouble controlling their voice. I really didn’t want to do a high note in front of them, because I’m a bit embarrassed and nervous to do so. Jongdae’s voice would crack and so would Baekhyun’s, so I had them go over it a bit but it resulted in the same thing. A sigh escaped my lips and I stood up, urging them to so as well. I took a sip of water and pushed away my nervousness.
“You guys aren’t letting your voices out.” I began to say, “Just let it out.”
“What do you mean?” Baekhyun scratched his nose.
