Hyori POV

A groan escaped my lips as I woke up from my deep sleep due to a heavy weight crashed onto me.  Struggling to breath, I managed to remove some of my blanket off my face just to see a new head of hair on top of me.  My body began to tremble with panic as I began to push the new person off me.  The person noticed I was starting to push him off, and so he did.  I narrowed my eyes and opened my mouth in realization.

“L-Luhan?!” I gasped, admiring his new look.  He went from blonde to a deep red color.  My boyfriend grinned widely at my shock. “When did you dye your hair?”

“This morning.” He sat on the edge of my bed, reaching for my hand. “It’s noon now.  You slept in for quite a long time.  I don’t blame you though.”

“It looks nice.” I managed a small awkward smile as I used my free hand to reach forward and ruffle his hair.  He frowned at me messing up his hair, but smiled anyways. “I really like it.”

“I think the red makes me look more manly than cute.”

“You’ll always be cute.” I whispered and he furrowed his brows.  Luhan sat on my bed more and yet again jumped on top of me.  His breath brushed against my neck and I cringed.  That feeling has always made me uncomfortable.

That moment, a sharp pain hit my head and I used all my will power to not show it.  Biting my lip hard, I’m grateful that Luhan is just resting his head against my chest and not kissing me or anything.

            I’m sorry Luhan.  I’m a terrible girlfriend.

“Get out of my room,” I ruffled his hair and he glanced up, meeting my eyes with a frown on his face. “I need to get ready for today.  More photoshoots.”

“Really?” His cute face was overrun by sadness.

“Yes.” I sighed and pushed him gently off me and then sitting up.

“Your face is already all over the Internet.” Luhan pouted as he stood up.

“And now it’ll be all over magazines.” I faintly smiled as the pain in my head faded away.

Luhan started to walk away, hands on his hips. I swung my legs off my bed and slowly stood up.  Once my feet were planted on the soft carpet of my floor, Luhan turned around and faced me by my doorway.

            “Hey, Hyori.”

            “Yes?”

“Is it hard?” Luhan averted his eyes away from me. “Being an idol, I mean.  Is it hard?”

The answer hit me like a brick. “At first, it is.  But it really depends on how badly you want to become an idol.  You will have to train excessively, throw away the life you have right now—throw everything away.  But during the trainee years, “I paused for a second, thinking about the past five years. “If you’re not ready for the stress and endless hours of work, then being an idol isn’t for you.  It doesn’t matter if you can sing, dance, or do both.  If you’re not ready, then they’ll drop you.”

“Have you ever felt like giving up?”

I nodded at him. “Of course I have.  But Shinyoung, Hana, Hyuna, and Minri, along with other idols, supported me. You're never alone.”
