“Be careful out there, okay Hyori? There have been reports on the news for a few cases of rape and even homicide.”
I shook off Hana’s hand on my shoulder and grinned reassuringly at her. “I’ll be fine, unnie. I live about ten minutes away from here on foot.”
“Are you sure you don’t want me to give you a ride?”
“No, it’s fine. I have to go grocery shopping anyways, and I prefer shopping alone.”
She continued to look at me with worried eyes, but eventually sighed with a defeated look. “Very well, I won’t argue. Arrive safely.”
“Thank you, bye-bye.”
“Bye.”
With that, I grabbed my school bag and duffel bag and left the practice room. The weather is finally warming up now that it’s almost Spring season, so it doesn’t hurt to walk in the warm weather. I exhaled slowly, breathing in the earthy air.
About five minutes during my walk, I stopped by the grocery store and gathered the groceries, dealing with a few fans here and there, but they respected my space and didn’t hang around. It was kind that some even grabbed the groceries I couldn’t quite reach, and I thanked them gratefully. After signing a few autographs and unfortunately taking some pictures, I bid my farewells and left the grocery store, turning the corner and making my way to Luhan’s and mine house.
A funny feeling crept its way into my stomach, and I felt someone was watching me. Memories of the trainee days flashed before my eyes, because I felt this feeling almost all the time before I entered the dance practice studio. Stopping in my tracks completely, I turned around but no one suspicious caught my eye; just the normal flow of normal people making their way to whatever their destination is. I shrugged my shoulders slightly and turned back around, continuing the walk, but the creepy feeling never faltered.
“Home sweet home.” I sang to myself, putting one of my bags down so I could pull out my keys into my house. Once I unlocked it, I shoved the keys back into my pocket and reached down for my bag, only to find it wasn’t there.
“What—“
“Sorry for following you, miss Hyori.” A soft male voice came towards me and my head snapped up to see a rather cute-looking Japanese boy standing there, speaking fluent Korean. “You just seemed to be carrying quite a few things and well, I wanted to help.”
He had hair that fell over his eyebrows but not long enough to cover his eyes, which were a light brown color. His skin was slightly tanned and was quite flawless, and he was around Luhan’s height. The boy was lean and I saw muscles under his gray shirt.
I smiled at him and he blushed. “Thank you for the consideration.” The funny feeling hit me once again, but I ignored it. “Well, come inside.”
“O-Oh alright.” He said cheerfully, and I grinned, turning back again, using my free hand to fully open the door and walking inside, kicking off my athletic shoes. With the corner of my eye, I saw the boy take off his shoes as well and neatly put them to the side, before following me into the kitchen.
