Words really can’t describe the explosion of happiness and relief that flooded within me that day, so many years ago.
The minute Hyomin’s heart stopped, I was pulled away and pushed out of the room so doctors could operate on her. Tears were streaming down my face endlessly, as were the others in the hallway. I couldn’t hear anything as my world began to shatter all around me.
She died, she really did.
But miracles really do happen, don’t they?
God granted me my wish, and she came back to us.
Now, here I am at the end of the aisle, a huge grin plastered on my face. The room all around me was perfect and it fitted Hyomin’s personality perfectly; white and innocent. She’s an angel—sorry, let me correct that—the embodiment of an angel. She’s beautiful, inside and out, and since that day years ago, gave hope to millions of people.
She was forced to retire her career as a singer but instead of putting up a huge fit, her huge fan base was extremely supportive. It was quite a shock yet a relief. They sent her gifts from all around the world as she spent months recovering from her near-death experience and in chemotherapy. The brain cancer has been successfully nullified in her entire body and present day, is as healthy as a horse.
Are horses really healthy?
Excitement was bubbling up within me and it took multiple deep breaths to contain it. Any moment now she’ll appear behind those grand double doors with a bouquet of flowers in her hands. The flower girl already emerged and began spreading beautiful baby pink and violet flower petals across the white carpeted aisle. The Maids of Honor and the men walked down already, hence why I am standing here for Hyomin to appear.
I bit my lip once the music started playing and the two men at the back opened the double doors in sync. Standing in front of the bright sunlight stood Hyomin Hara, dressed beautifully in white. Her long, dark hair was curled and braided prettily to the side of her head, the curls hugging her body and ending at mid-waist. Her dress was strapless and was decorated with pearls in an intricate design. Now I’m not an expert when it comes to this so please bear with me. The dress emphasized her hidden curves and ended just mid-thigh, getting longer towards the back of the dress. Her long, slender legs were revealed, showing off bejeweled silver heels. The back of her dress trailed behind her; being held by Minri’s little sisters so it doesn’t hold back Hyomin.
Or maybe they’re holding it for show, I don’t know.
My sucked in a breath watching as Hyomin walked in sync with the sweet, music. Everyone in the seats stood up and looked at her. I caught some of the people in the audience having tears in their eyes and others flashing their cameras at her magnificent beauty. A smile was plastered on her face and I could see the tears threatening to fall down her face, but knowing her and her pride in her makeup, she wouldn’t let them fall.
At least she wouldn’t let them fall yet.
Our eyes met and her smile widened as she reached the end of the aisle. My heart clenched as she looked away, that beautiful smile not fading one bit. The priest raised his hand, signaling for everyone to sit down and hear what he has to say.
“Dearly beloved, we are gathered here today to witness that gathering of you, Hara Hyomin, and you, Zhang Yixing…”
