Dani's POV

"So you guys must get a heck of a lot of attention at school then right?" The older sister said, I'd forgotten her name already... my bad.

I laughed, "yeah I guess you could say that!" We were all sat around an outdoor table in some wooden chairs just chilling. Stacey was so on edge though it was super weird, she kept looking back at the house, I mean like I don't really know her but I could tell something was up.

Taylor grinned, "literally every time I see you, you're in like a swarm of boys," she chuckled. I smiled back at her and just rolled my eyes.

"Ugh yeah, it can get pretty annoying sometimes, like I'd love to be able to just hang with a few friends, ya know?" She nodded, "hey we should hang some time." Her eyes widened and her mouth dropped open for a second which made me chuckle.

"R-really?!" She asked and I nodded, "yeah! That'd be awesome!"

"Great, I'm free this weekend if you wanna come over to mine?" She nodded her head violently, normally I don't tend to do this with like, fans, but she seems like such a nice girl from what I've seen and I could do with some more friends, plus hopefully Lauren and Charlie will be on good terms now too.

"Hey Stace, you alright?" I asked, and she quickly turned back around from staring at the back door and shuffled in her seat.

"Huh? Oh yeah, sorry," she mumbled, "do you think they're done yet? They've been a while." Just at that moment I felt my phone vibrate in my back pocket. I reached and retrieved it seeing I had a message from Lauren, weird.

Text Message from: Meatlovers Kitchen

L: SOS, parked by park, come quick

I frowned at my phone. "Everything okay?" Taylor asked me, seeing everyone watching me as I glanced back up. I got to my feet.

"Uhh sorry, I'm gonna have to go, family emergency," I said quickly. She looked back in surprised but they all got up as well. We walked back inside and saw Charlie just stood there leaning against the wall in shock.

"What's up? Where's Lauren?" Her older sister asked her. She just stood there shaking her head, I was confused. Her eyes were wide. Taylor went up to her and started snapping her fingers in her face.

"Hello? Earth to Charlie? Where'd Lauren go?" I grabbed my bag and looked up, Charlie just pointed to the door. Uh oh, this can't be good.

"Okay, sorry but I really need to go," I turned to leave and was heading out the door when I remembered, "oh Taylor, here..." she raised her eyebrows and I walked back over to her handing her a slip of paper, "my number." She smiled and took it.

"I'll text you later," she said cheerfully and I smiled back then ran out the door and down the street. I knew which park Lauren was talking about and I was a little concerned considering the pale look on Charlie's face just then so I hurried. I was pretty sure I understood but I was still wary. I saw the car parked on the other side and when I got to it I opened the passenger door, climbed in and saw Lauren look up from having rested her head on the steering wheel. She didn't say anything, just started the engine and drove off.

"Okay, are you gonna explain what just happened back there or...?" I broke the silence and stared at her as she focused on driving. She swallowed hard and glanced over to me before looking back at the road.

"She didn't say anything?" Lauren asked surprised. I shook my head.

"No, she just looked like... I don't even know, in shock I guess? What did you say?" She sighed and wiped her hands one at a time on her jeans. I watched her in silence for a minute as she just didn't bother replying. Clearly she was unsure of what to say. Lauren had been acting super weird lately. She'd been coming home from school grumpy and depressed like everyday. There's no way she would get so worked up over nothing. Lauren really does come up with some stupid ass plans when it comes to her feelings.
