Charlie's POV
So we pulled up at the side of the road outside Stacey's place and hopped out thanking and saying goodbye to Mrs Turner. Geez this house is massive. Like super huge, it looks like you could get lost pretty easily. It was 7:30 and the music was blaring already. We could hear the sound of splashing probably coming from her pool in the backyard as we walked up to the door.
"Hey girls! Come on in!" Stacey greeted us after we knocked. She stepped aside to let us in and we were immediately handed some drink in a red plastic cup. No idea what it was but I was kinda nervous and hey, it's liquid confidence. I took a large gulp and now I'm pretty sure it's jack and Coke.
"Wow, Stace, this place is awesome," Sam gawked in awe as she looked around the gigantic foyer.
"Thanks," Stacey chuckled, "everyone's out back, come join!"
We followed her through the house and outside into her massive garden. There was a huge patio with a swimming pool off to the right and tables with umbrellas dotted around. Some guys were busy cooking on the barbecue whilst others were messing around and jumping in the pool. This place really was cool. There was already so many people here, it looked like most of the sports teams and a few other 'cool kids'. Yeah I'm counted as a cool kid to be honest. I don't mean that in a cocky way, but I'm not generally a shy person, I get on with most of the year and my status has shot up since I'm the school's champion runner. Basically, if you're athletic, funny, beautiful or just popular and talented then you're invited to these kinda parties.
I saw a group of my friends and the three of us headed over to join them. They were chilling on a table drinking and laughing. "Hey Charlie!" Amanda waved from the pool, "oh hey Char!" Aidan grinned as he walked past me. So many people were waving and saying hi to me. Man, I love being popular! We got to the table and my friends were all just staring at me with their mouths open. It was a little unnerving.
"You know you'll catch flies if you're not careful," I smirked, "what are you staring at?"
"Damn Charlie, you look so..." Jake trailed off.
"HOT!" Holly finished.
I laughed and was about to say thanks when Jenna interrupted me. "Why thank you! I did try my best," she gloated putting her hands under her chin. Everyone laughed and we sat down on the bench to join them.
We were just sitting there for like an hour messing around, bullying each other and getting tipsy when people's voices started to get louder from the house. We looked over and my heart burst into flames (not literally obvs but you get the picture). I immediately looked away. Omg she's here. I'd been so distracted by my friends that I'd completely forgotten she would be coming. Everyone was still looking her way while I just stared at the table and drank. "Wow she looks so hot," Conor sighed, I swear he looked like he could have those love heart eyes like the emoji, you know the one?
😍 <- yeah that's the one!I had to look, I couldn't look away any longer. Oops that was a mistake. My mouth involuntarily dropped open. She was wearing this checkered blue and white skirt with knee high white socks, black Vans and a black sweater with a white shirt underneath with the collar overlapping the sweater. Her hair was loose and wavy and she just looked perfect. Freaking. Perfect. I want to die.
She leaned her head back as she laughed. Ugh her laugh is the most amazing thing I've ever heard. I couldn't help but grin like a maniac when I saw her laughing. Someone nudged me.
I snapped my head back to look at my friends, "what are you grinning at you weirdo?" Amanda asked me.
I blushed, "oh uh, nothing, just saw Jason do something funny," I tried to cover up.
