"You're damn lucky you're not dead." He hissed in my ear, but I didn't care about his rudeness. He was alive, I was alive, and he finally found me.
"I missed you." I mumbled despite the reputation he had built up years ago and the three people watching us.
"Yeah, for a whole ten minutes when you remembered he existed." Maeko said resulting in me having to explain everything that happened in the past three months up to now.
"Can we get to business now? We're losing valuable time." Hidan's partner said, crossing his arms in irritation.
"Right," Hidan glanced at Maeko and Chiya. "Unfortunately we're taking all of you with us. Leader-sama wants your kekkei genkai in the Akatsuki." He told us and the smirked at me. "I want to fight you first." I couldn't help smiling.
"Suit yourself, but I'm not going easy on you. I can stab you all I want and I can't kill you." I told him and took a step back.
"Can we fight you too?" Maeko asked eagerly.
"No, you haven't even killed anyone yet. You aren't strong enough. Besides, Hidan will kill you if you get close enough." I told them without taking me eyes off of Hidan.
"We don't have time for this." Hidan's partner protested, but it was too late.
The entire area was filled with clanking metal and crumbling walls within seconds. It had been a long time since anyone put up a fight since all this had happened. It had also been a long time since I fought Hidan. He was much better than he had been before, which wasn't so good for me because I hadn't really changed at all. He got a few good slices in before I started getting irritated.
The air spiked around me and every conscious move Hidan made infuriated me. I should have been winning. I should have had this under control, but I didn't. I gripped Juryoku tighter and waited for Hidan's next hit. I flicked Juryoku up to deflect the hit, but just as the blades came in contact he flew back into a wall that crumbled on top of him. We all waited, watching to see if he was capable of getting out of the rubble.
"Are you all just going to fucking stand there?" He called from under the heavy rocks. I smiled victoriously and ran to him with Hero on my heels. I jumped onto the slab compressing his chest and tapped his cheek with the flat part of Juryoku.
"How you doing down there?" I teased and pricked his cheek.
"Just fine bitch, now let me the fuck up." He insisted with a slick smile. I rolled my eyes and pulled the stones off of him.
After righting Hidan we began our journey back to the Akatsuki headquarters. The whole time it was all it took for Maeko and Chiya not to lose their minds. Every time Hidan or Kakuzu would look at them they would either giggle profusely or attempt to strike up a conversation. I knew they were disappointed that neither of the two had any interest in speaking to them, but they wouldn't admit it.
"Are we there yet?" Chiya asked, finally, after several days, giving in to being exhausted.
"A few more hours." Kakuzu answered in only mild irritation. He didn't seem to hate her as much as he did Maeko. For Hidan it was the other way around, which worried me. She kept asking him about Jashinism because that was the only thing he would talk to her about. She was too interested in it for her own good.
"Hours?" Chiya whined and shuffled forward. I groaned and slowed a bit too.
"I don't know why you're fucking complaining." I smacked Maeko with Juryoku again.
