"Maybe you should wear less clothes." He teased. I gave him a hard push down and rolled off onto my back. I let out a long sigh and closed my eyes.
"You're a refreshing person Kisame." I giggled and opened my eyes to see him giving me a questioning look. "Get it? 'Cause you're a fish? Oh wait, sharks are mammals. Oh well, you get my point." I rubbed my face and sighed again. "I think I'm delirious." That got a laugh out of him.
"Kisame have you seen-. " Hidan stopped in the doorway and stared at us. "What the fuck are you two doing?" He asked, seeming to get angrier by the second.
"Uh...not much really; just talking." I answered, knowing that wasn't going to cut it because of the whole "just talking" thing.
"Yeah fucking right you were just fucking talking!" He yelled and stepped into the room.
"Okay, Kisame was doing push-ups, I was sitting on his back and we were talking. We talked about psychology, periods, and how I know you; in that order. Does that suffice?" I asked him, still not bothering to sit up. Kisame's floor was too comfortable. I love lying on carpeted floors for some reason.
"What did she say then?" Hidan quizzed Kisame. I almost laughed.
"She said you saved her and got your ass killed." He answered slyly. I smiled and watched as Hidan reached for his scythe. I unsheathed Juryoku and easily deflected the blade.
"Just stop it Hidan. Would it kill you to let me have a good time? I'm not six anymore." I said coldly and pushed past him. I stood in the kitchen and did the dishes. I did them slowly to waste time so when I was done I started on lunch. Seeing as how it was just lunch I made sandwiches for everyone. When I was done I sat at the table just thinking about things. I must have fallen asleep.
"Etsuko-chan...Etsuko-chan..." Tobi said in a sing-song voice as he shook me gently. I woke up and was instantly blinded by the kitchen lights. I rubbed my eyes and stretched. I felt incredibly disoriented. That always happened when I slept with the lights on. "Tobi's sorry Etsuko-chan." He said suddenly.
"Wha-. " I was cut off by a cloth being tied around my eyes. It was my headband. Tobi covered my mouth a dragged me out of the base completely. I struggled and fumbled for Juryoku, but I couldn't quite get to it.
Tobi eventually stopped and let go. I was about to make a break for it, but two pairs of strong arms held me in place. "Let me go!" I demanded and kicked them, wriggling around only to have my arms twisted painfully. There was something cold and loose going around my neck. It triggered something within me that was repressed. I couldn't get to it if I tried. All that was there was pure panic.
"No! Get it off! Let me go!" I yelled more frantically than before. My heart pounded in my chest as the cold metal fitted against my neck and chains rattled.
"Hold her steady!" An unfamiliar and authoritative voice demanded. There were strong pulls from all directions and angles, making it impossible for me to fall. "Etsuko Inoue," The voice began. "Since there are no individuals here to be your partner you will have to find a team the hard way. Going only by their chakra you must pick. If the person's chakra does not feel right to you simply take the chain from them." There was more coming, I could feel it.
"But there's a catch." He said.
"There always fuckin is." I said shakily to myself.
"If you fall you will be killed. Falling would be a failure to compete with the worthy members of the Akatsuki. You may begin." I took a deep breath.
