"So why are you wearing Kisame's shirt specifically?" Maeko asked.
"His door was the first one I knocked on." I answered with a shrug.
"Would you have taken Zetsu's shirt?" She questioned.
"No, he's scary." I answered and scrambled another egg. Every time I inhaled or looked at the food I was cooking I wanted to take a fork to it. However, I think I might burn myself.
"And I'm not?" I jumped slightly at the voice and looked over my shoulder. "I smelled food." Kisame stated expectantly and sat at the head of the table closest to the door.
I shook my head and shoveled bacon onto a plate. "You're not scary Kisame, just blue and, ah, aquatic." I told him and set the bacon in the center of the table. I was going to need more than that. I handed them three plates and Tobi walked in, looking sleepy and adorable.
"Will Etsuko-chan make Tobi breakfast too?" He asked as he sat next to Maeko. I told him I would and handed him a plate. Kakuzu came in next and sat next to Chiya. Unlike Kisame and Tobi he was fully dressed. I figured that had something to do with not wanting to show his face.
"If you're not going to wear pants you should be armed." Kakuzu informed me after refusing a plate.
"I'm not too worried." I told him while examining my attire, which wasn't really even mine. I suppose I should have been more worried. Being in a house full of men and two girls who aren't going to help you should have been a pretty good sign to put pants on, but who was I going to take those from?
Hero padded in behind Deidara and sat in front of me. "I suppose you want this?" I held up a strip of bacon. He barked in response and I smiled. "Can you lie down?" He did. "Can you roll over?" He did. "Can you ask for it?" He looked up at me and made whiny dog-speak sounds. I patted his head and gave him the bacon. He sprawled out at my feet and gnawed on his treat.
"I'm glad she didn't make us work for it." Maeko mumbled and went back to eating.
Itachi was the last one in and took his food to go. Before I ate I decided Hidan needed to get his lazy ass out of bed. I held my ear up to the door, making sure he wasn't in the middle of a ritual, before I went in. Seeing he was still asleep I carefully crossed the room and then sat on him. He didn't even twitch. I leaned down dangerously close to his peaceful face.
"Hidan!" I yelled. He jumped into consciousness and verbally slaughtered me with a string of curses and seemingly random appropriate words. I laughed and he sat up with me still on his lap. "You sleep too much." I informed him and squished his face. He pushed my hands off and hugged me.
"You don't remember much do you?" I sighed and wrapped my arms around his neck.
"Not really, but I remember your first ritual, where we used to hang out, how we met and...and the first time you died." The last one was new. It was during the first battle in Yugakure. He saved me and then got stabbed to death. I cried over his body, which resulted in me being covered in his blood. As far as I knew everyone I knew was dead. I lost it and killed everyone I saw.
"Yeah, I think that really knocked a screw loose." He mumbled, but hugged me tighter.
"It's impossible to stay sane when your best friend is murdered in front of you." I said softly and sighed. "I can't believe they made me forget you." It was then that I realized something. "When I find out who they are I'm going to kill them, but slowly and painfully." I growled.
"I can see you're having a family moment, but you might want to come back upstairs." Kakuzu said. I gave him a questioning look and untangled myself from Hidan. Catching on to something being wrong I beat Kakuzu up the stairs.
