Tobi moved away and let Hidan and Kakuzu get to me. They both just looked at me for a while, obviously not knowing what to say that hadn't already been said.
"I...I really lost it didn't I?" Neither of the two responded. "I didn't even hear you tell me Hidan. I just relived it. I don't know how I lived six years without you there to save me." He sat down and took my hand, still not saying a word.
"You screamed like that when I got there." He gritted his teeth. "One finished up and three more came at you. I should have killed those bastards." He tightened his grip on my hand.
I sat up without as much trouble as I thought I would have and wrapped my arms around Hidan. "Don't talk about it. Please don't." I pleaded and started feeling the energy come back to me. I let go of Hidan and stood on the bed, falling purposefully into Kakuzu's arms. Something felt different about him now and it took a moment to realize what it was.
Hidan is home. Maeko, Chiya, and Hero are family. Kakuzu is safety. But there was something else. There was Kisame. Kisame is comfort. That was when I realized where we were.
"Why are we in Kisame's room?" I asked, not letting go of Kakuzu.
"Konan said it would be best. She said Hidan and I held negative subconscious feelings. Chiya told her about your episode in the living room last night and Hidan mentioned the two of you being together earlier. She also said since you had worn his shirt the scent of him would evoke the positive thoughts." Kakuzu answered, leaving Hidan to grumbled disagreements about everything.
"That's right, I'm positive, now come here." Kisame bragged as he walked in. I jumped away from Kakuzu and was in Kisame's arms before I consciously realized that was where I needed to be in order to get myself together.
"Who's Konan?" I asked him, causing a devilish smile to form out of his sharp teeth,
"Konan is the woman you nearly dug a grave for with her body as the shovel." I laughed at his wording. When I stopped I sighed and rested my cheek against Kisame's chest. "Hey Hidan, I'm refreshing too." He really shouldn't have even gone there.
When Hidan started attacking Kisame, Tobi and Hero ran out of the room. I inched my way to Kakuzu and he led me out so I didn't get decapitated by Hidan's scythe or sent through a wall by Samehada. We made our way to the kitchen which was when I first started hearing the argument.
"It doesn't need more salt it needs more carrots!" Chiya exclaimed.
"Etsuko doesn't even like carrots!" Maeko insisted.
"Yeah-huh! She does when they're roasted." Chiya said. She was right.
"Tell me, Chiya, what are we doing right now? Roasting soup? Who does that?" I cracked up and covered my mouth.
"I don't know! Maybe we should be since we messed it up the first two times!" Chiya yelled, catching Kakuzu's money grubbing attention.
"You did what now?" He shouted and entered the kitchen. I followed closely. "We waste nothing in this house! Do you understand me? I don't care how disgusting your damn soup is. It will be used for something!" He directed to Chiya.
"But we did use it Kakuzu!" She insisted.
Someone screamed from down the hall, which was followed by a string of profanity. Chiya, Maeko, and Kakuzu rushed over to see what happened. The girls looked like they already knew.
