"If you fall I won't catch you." Greer was standing on the ground while I climbed up one of the trees.
"I'm not going to fall." I grabbed another branch. Relishing the feel of the bark on my skin. "It's been so long since I climbed a tree."
"That branch won't hold your weight." And just like that, the branch snapped. Good thing I was getting ready to put it somewhere else.
"Well look at that." I felt a tug from my head. I looked to find that my hair was wrapped around a branch. Greer smirked at my distress.
"Don't be mean. My hair had a mind of its own. You know that lady off of Sinbad?" I reached another beached as sat in it.
"That woman with the cool hair. You do look like that." He had floated up to where I was. I was panting and he was floating calmly.
"So what now?" I looked at the setting sun. The sky looked like it was on fire.
"We do whatever we want. You want to check out the Toopic forests?"
"What's that?" There was a stretch of just dark. It looked scary.
"That place is way bad news. We call it the land of nightmares." I shivered even though it was relatively warm.
A wave of tiredness washed over me. I felt myself wobble a bit.
"Time to build camp?" Greer chuckled. I nodded and began my decent. Greer rolled his eyes and picked me up.
"Here." He had carried me to the ground and placed me on my feet. It's always nice to have a magical flying friend around.
"Thanks." I mumbled. "Where are we going to sleep?"
"Just on the ground. I can build a fire if you want."
"That reminds me. How do I use my powers?" I asked curiously.
"Uh, I know emotion drives them. But other than that I don't really know to help you use your powers. Perhaps it will just come to you."
"I hope so." I plopped down on the ground. It was so comfortable. A pine needle poked my arm, causing me to yelp. "Right on my--ugh!" It hurt more that it should.
"Awe you poor baby." Greer struggled with not laughing. I sent him a glare and it broke him. He started laughing. I just turned on my side and closed my eyes.

I woke up panting. I don't know what was wrong but something seemed to spook me. I calmed down when I saw nothing was wrong.I could hear Greer breathing next to me. I sat up and looked at his figure. I remembered my dream. I was in a hospital, or at least I think it was. There were some demon like creatures with large fangs and dark skin dissecting me. Or at least, they were about to.
I heard a crunch of leaves and I quickly turned my body to see what it was. It was a wolf. It was large with silver fur that shown in the moonlight. I looked at the beasts beauty. It looked at me with calm yellow eyes. It walked towards me timidly. I oddly wasn't afraid. I held my hand out, moving it upwards slowly in order to not startle the wolf.
It's cold nose brushed my hand as it smelled me. Then after a pause it licked me.
"Sheena likes you." Greer was suddenly next to me.
"Sheena?"
"The guardian of this forest. Whats up Sheena?" The wolf inclined it's head at Greer and then looked at me.
"Wow. No wonder you're so pretty." I said absent minded. The she wolf tilted it's head to the side. I heard yelps from pups coming from behind Sheena.
Three juvenile pups ran towards there mother at top speed. She snarled at them and two of them skipped to a stop. The other one skidded too late and ended up running right into me. The mother barked at the pup and it looked up at her upside down. I had caught it but it had twisted upside down and I'm pretty sure I bruised a rib or something. It yapped happily and started to get up. Nailing me in the face with a pup tail. Two had the same fur as their mother and one had dark black fur and yellow eyes.
The mother turned to leave. The pups began to follow her. The one that had ran into me turned around and looked at me with puppy dog eyes. I scratched its head.
"I forgive you. Go follow your mum before she snaps at you." He nipped playfully at my hand and ran towards his family.
"I didn't know Sheena had a litter." Greer pondered.
"How do you even know the guardian of the forest?"
"Well I was messing around in here one time and accidentally chopped down some trees. Sheena came and barked at me. I apologized and all. I still don't think she's forgiven me. She seems to like you though. Showed you her pups when they're vulnerable." I gave him a goofy smile.
"Hmm. Well I'm tired. Night." I said laying back down to sleep.
"Goodnight."

My hand moved automatically to swat at something tickling my face. I begrudgingly opened one of my eyes to see red hair and a large hand tickling my nose. I tried to put on a stern face and pout at him, but I couldn't help but smile.
"Haha, funny. Now get off of me." I lifted my arms to push him off. He rolled off, but dragged me along with him. Now I was on top of him. "It's too early for you." I got up.
"It's never to early for me." He leaned up on his elbow.
"I'd beg to differ." I crossed my arms over my chest.
My attempt to look cool only got an eyebrow raise from him. I raised my hands above my head and turned my back and walked over to the cliff. I looked over at the valley again, my eyes falling on the land of nightmares. I looked over at the large mountains in the opposite direction and thought that would be the perfect place to head to.
"You know we're going to be tracked down by the Kings armies. By the prince." Greer floated up next to me. My hair went out and danced around him. Traitors.
"Sounds like fun." I smiled wickedly. "Do you think we're the bad guys?" I knew we weren't the hero's. Hero's were overrated anyway.
"Heck to the no. We're more like antagonists. Since we are the antagonists, let's find the hero and mess with them." He put his arm on my shoulder.
"That sounds like the best way for this story to go." My smile widened. Greer hovered in front of me and grabbed my hands.
"Ready to go then princess?" His lip twitched as he called me princess. I pursed my lips at him.
"As ready as I'll ever be." I was still pouting as he lifted me up in the air and carried me towards the large mountains.
